[my mother and father were both Jewish, stepfather Jewish, wife's parents both Jewish. I'm an only child, but both of my wife's brothers married Jewish ladies... my aunt and two uncles also married and remarried Jews... so, I guess, we are a pretty "Jewish" family --- one exception, my dad did remarry a lovely non-Jewish lady when I was in my teens...]

Our Christmas plans are set. We'll spend Christmas Eve at one friend's home (very big family celebration) and Christmas Day at another one's.
We used to go to her sister's home on Christmas eve but as her family has geographically spread out, that's no longer an option.
We're trying to get away for a few days after New Year's but that'll depend mostly on the weather forecast for AMS. If it's going to be rainy and cold, we'll stay home.

I love our families, but sometimes I wish they didn't live so close to each other so we could visit one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas rather than having both mothers arguing about how much time we want to spend with each. And if we want to visit any of our friends from high school or college while we're in town...oh how dare we?
