$50 MDQ Short of making Gold - how to get them?

Hi,
currently on Delta’s status challenge ending in a few weeks.
I have $2,450 MQD, missing $50 to concur gold.
I don’t hold an AMEX DELTA card.

what are my options to get those missing MDQs?

Thanks

this one is actually simple, apply for a credit card and put $500-$1000 on it, or find a $80 ish dollar non basic ticket to earn the last $50

The promo on Delta Stays MQDs has ended unless you booked it at some point in January/Feb I think. Delta Vacations is definitely an option if you don't want to open a credit card or take a cheap (non-basic) flight (i.e., mileage/MQD run) as others have posted.

Last day to book a hotel/car with Delta Stays promo was March 4th (they extended it a few days) and definitely will no longer earn MQDs. You can book a Hotel/Car package (without flight) on DL Vacations which will earn MQDs as part of ongoing DL Vacations MQD earnings option. Although in my area (DTW), the cheapest option was about $200. WN has a $49 fare sale right now and DL is matching on some routes (albeit with BE fares which are no good for MQDs). For example, can book DTW-MDW/ORD for $157 roundtrip in Main right now.

I just booked MC LAS>LAX>LAS for $69 each way. BE was $49 but no MQD. There are some cheap flights in the system on highly competitive routes.

Thank you all.
If I do issue an AMEX Delta Gold card, do I get MQD for purchases made on that card?
Couldn't find it on the card description

Thanks,

No. Platinum card is $20:1 MQD. Reserve is 10:1.

I don't know exact timing but there will be a Hertz MQD promotion very soon. If you have time you may want to see if it comes out and you can do a short rental.

Odds are its not going to work/track well and take a while to post... you're talking about IT from both DL and Hertz in that case... and Hertz is even worse on that than Delta.

With the OP saying they need the MQDs within a 'few weeks' I don't see any other reliable way than flying. Getting a CC is going to take time to process, get the actual card, make spend, and have that link and post to DL. Other promos like car rentals you have to actually complete the rental, then rely on the car company posting the points which can take a couple weeks after the rental.
