DL352 lots of loops to SFO then LAS instead
Crew timed out and we deplaned. Waiting for the DL plan. Weather was quite choppy. Too bad no Sky Clubs, and the Centurion line is looped down the hallway. We are not the only SFO bound flight to divert. Hope everyone else is happy flighting today!

SFO weather is a mess today, and Runway 28L is shut down for construction for the next 5 months

This was a quite unusual (for this region) wind event today. If you were diverted, you should be glad you didn't attempt a landing in this crap. Rain was heavy in places, but sporadic. Wind was violent, at least in Snowflakeville

Back in December when the Bay had a couple mornings of major dense fog (no storm and nothing compared to today) we had a diversion to FAT after circling to land in OAK on regional jet coming from LAX.
Felt like a long day even then. (LAS-LAX-Bay Area circling-FAT-OAK) I imagine the storm today combined with the runway construction was a recipe for an extremely long day! I wonder why some of these more short hop flights didn't delay further or cancel out. Was the severity of the storm worse than forecasted?

Was in LAX skyclub waiting for a flight to YYC - guy comes into the lounge at 4:30p, turns out he was on a flight to SFO from LAX, had been there since 9a, and they couldn't land due to microbursts and windshear. Don't envy anyone trying to get into SFO.
Takeoff (around 6:30p) from LAX was one of the most turbulent I have ever felt (737-8). I don't mind it but I felt bad for the poor souls who are not as travelled as I. Plane was rattling and shaking probably until we reached 20k+ altitude. Wild weather to be sure on the coast yesterday.
