Currently platinum.
$3119 MQD left to reach until I get a status bump.
Anyone know if there are exceptions to the rule or best way to not drop status between now and end of Dec 2023? Money is tight but... yeah.
And yes I do have the AMEX business reserve card too, if that helps.

If you are really wanting to maintain/chase Diamond status it's time to take flight somewhere in D1, as the thresholds are what they are. I personally don't see the benefit of shelling out $3k+ (especially if money is tight) and MQD spend for next year sounds like it too will be out of reach at $28K. Save the money and buy the class of service you want, as desired.

I’m almost exactly the same dollar amount away. There is no way I would consider throwing $3000 at Delta. I’ll just take the $3000 put it in the bank and use it to buy upgrades. That way I am in first class as opposed to 15th on the list for two seats. Now I live in Atlanta, so your mileage may vary but There’s no way I’d be throwing money at Delta so I can be Diamond.

Get on a DL flight and show up at DL's Atlanta HQ and beg them for an exception. Keep making round trips to try to convince them until they finally give you status.
But seriously, flying is the only way.

Do the run / many runs - you will have option of hitting 275k MQM or so without the 3k MQD or with the MQD
Then you can choose between 2 yrs of DM and 3 yrs PM
If you choose to hit the MQD and get DM, you will have 150k MQM left = 1 extra yr DM and 50k MQM (= 25k RDM)
if no MQD and you hit 275 - then you have 3 yrs of PM with 75k taken and 200k left = 2 yrs
(A spreadsheet has come in handy to look at options for many family members who come to me for advice)
if 2 yrs DM you can choose 500$ credit to Amex x2 = 1000$ less
You also get 35k DL miles x 2 = 700$ at least - if you want that or 2 GM gifts each year
Then you have 4 GUCs in 2024 and 4 GUCs in 2025 = well worth the balance 1200$ total= 150$ per GUC
Then you can choose between 2 yrs of DM and 3 yrs PM
If you choose to hit the MQD and get DM, you will have 150k MQM left = 1 extra yr DM and 50k MQM (= 25k RDM)

How does this work? Are you saying I can convert to the next status?
