Check 7 Bags For Free?

Checking in on the app for SFO-DTW today and was surprised to see the option to check up to 7 bags for free (DM in First).

I tried adding 7 bags and the total came to $0.

Anyone else seeing increased baggage allowances?

I don’t think there has been a change to the allotted bags…

Were you actually traveling with 7 bags? And were you able to drop off that many bags without a fee?

It may have been a glitch, or possibly a proactive measure to reduce gate-checked bags during busy travel periods?

I was able to add 7 "pending" bags but only ended up checking in 3.

Last week, in a booking in Y for FLL-ATL-ROC, I was encouraged at the kiosk to check a second bag free (first was free from an Amex card).
