Would be interesting if they made the Reserve benefits a la carte:
Every year, you get to chose from one of the below:
- Unlimited SkyClub Access OR
- Companion cert + 10 SkyClub passes
If you spend $75k each year, then you get the second option

Im very aware. The poster I responded to was lamenting possibly breaking a relationship the reality is its a transactional relationship. Its time to break free when the value received is less than the value paid.

7 days have past and no news, including either leaks or rumors of possible rollback changes. Hearing crickets from Atlanta GA.

I think they will cut the EQD increase by 50%, and increase SC visits by 100%.
and Ill be sampling B6 via the Mosaic 4 status match.

I already cancelled my DL Amex primary spend card I have used for the past 14 years and moved some transatlantic flights from DL to B6 over the next few months (never thought I would say that! Lol)
This frog already had one foot out of the pot...now I am hopping away. Lol
I could be seduced by a sexy DL gold card offer for free luggage once I lose Covid-PM status and 15% off SkyPesos redemptions next year, but that would be a churn and burn card. No other changes really would work on me now.

That sounds drastic at first, but comparing to AAs 2023 numbers for renewals (as they havent announced 2024 yet), it would still be a bit higher for every level except for silvers.
50% decrease in MQD increase would be (and someone please check my math here):
4,500 / 10,000 / 15,000 / 27,500
Whereas AA for renewals is (keep in mind its easier to renew an existing level at AA than to earn it):
5,714 / 9,375 / 13,888 / 18,181

I recall reading the phrase "In the coming weeks". Haven't gotten to the "s", yet. There were a myriad of changes. I'm pretty sure they're working through them in a thoughtful manner (considering their objectives and program members' desires weren't in sync - to say the least). Reduced club visits are still a given. Increased Medallion hurdles are still a given.

I think youre dreaming about the 50% MQD reduction. DL and Amex spent months in collaboration researching and deciding on this. Maybe DM will go down to $30k-$32.5k but DL has drawn their line in the sand that there are too many elites and they wont back down.

Well in the meantime, I hope former loyal elites keep canceling/downgrading their cards and reducing spend on DL. Only way the corporate office will care is if they take a big hit in the revenue department.

Honestly the original changes go into effect in months so I dont think there is any rush. Delta does report earnings next Thursday so I do think they could have changed out before then so analysts can review the changes

RE: Amex Loyalty
This is going to sound corny, but I just like Amex. It's one of the great American brands, has a wonderful history, backed by the world's greatest investor (IMHO), closed loop system, and became a cardmember in my own right since freshman year in college. I realize the Amex today is not the one I had come of age with, but I still remember the one from long ago, and those memories will likely take a lifetime to break.
In the context of this thread, if there's any loyalty here, mine would be to Amex, not DL. I mean, an airline is basically a flying bus getting me from point A to point B.

If I had to guess, this was a lot of people. Diverting $25k/yr in spend is probably easy (even at lousy earning rates).
Yet another problem that DL is facing is that for $100k on spend on a $90-100-tier card (outside of the airline), you get:
-With United: 100-125k RDMs (the Explorer card has a 2x category for dining, hotels, etc.), two lounge passes, and 1k PQPs (not great - you can do more with other CCs - but not zero), plus the usual free checked bag, etc.
-With American: 100-125k RDMs (the Citi AAdvantage card in this tier has restaurants as a bonus category), 100k LPs (Platinum and 80% of the way to Plat Pro), a $125 discount, some earning bonuses, the free checked bag, etc.
-With Amtrak: 100-125k RDMs, 20k TQPs (enough for Select Executive)
-With Delta: 100-125k RDMs, a free checked bag, and a turd on the status end of things.
Even over at Hyatt, $100k on the CC will give you (20*2)+5=45 nights (mid-tier status and 3/4 of the way to Globalist) alongside two free nights. I forget the intermediate tiers it covers you for.
[I'm picking on this tier because [i]everyone has one in that general $75-125 ballpark, and most are $95/99.]
