Question Merging split ticket with Delta

I've been trying to book an award round trip flight from MSY to SIN for weeks now, but the Delta website hasn't worked. I figured it out by getting a round trip from SEA > SIN and another round trip from MSY > SEA, but I was wondering if I can ask an agent to merge these tickets or if that's impossible.

Separate tickets cannot be merged.
Have you phoned and asked?

Welcome to Flyertalk. They can't be merged. But if you plan to check bags, DL will gladly check your bag all the way from MSY to SIN (and same coming back). Just have both confirmation numbers handy at check-in.

Don't need to merge them, but you can book your luggage through to destination.

While tickets cant be merged, I believe theres still a way to have two fares combined on a single pnr. (30 years ago, there was a code we used called arunk). It basically meant we are making a fare break.

perhaps an agent can help?

Edited: oops, you cant combine award with revenue.

Thanks! I tried calling last night but the wait times were +2 hours, so I'll give it a shot some time this week when things are less busy.

Thanks! The first flight on the way back is operated by Korean Air; will that be an issue for checking to MSY?

Korean should have no trouble with that, tho I haven't tried that one personally.

Really no point. The tickets can't be combined.

It doesn't matter. You will have to collect and recheck your luggage at the first point of entry into the US.

Marrers for bag fees. Also depending on airport matters where must haul bags to. Ie LAX can drop right outside customs if tagged, but must bring to DL terminal otherwise.

Lets say youre a no status pax and you fly business on Korean and then connect domestic DL in coach with bags tagged to the intl gateway only. Wouldnt the DL agent waive the charges if theyre shown your international boarding pass?

It can matter. If you have a tight connection, there are deadlines after which you won't be able to get bag tags. But if your bag was already tagged in Korea, you don't have to worry about that. At some airports there are shorter lines or self serve bag drops for already tagged bags.

Maybe. But why on earth would you want to go thru that hassle when you can just tag them all the way in one shot

Im not advocating for doing it in segments. Clearly tagging it all the way through is best. IME, inability to do this doesnt matter for connections in the US.

You bring up a situation I havent experienced which is arriving after bag cut off. FlyerCO mentions LAX geography issues, which I also havent experienced (my I->D connections have been at airports where this hasnt been an issue).
