MSP Question

Mods if there is an existing thread for this question please move.

We have a 6am nonstop MSP/TPA next Friday and haven't flown out of terminal 1 in years.

We have TSA pre but is there a better security line we can use for first class ?

Will Delta be serving any food on this flight ?

Delta is still blocking seats so it seems we have all of row 2 to ourselves. Thanks

If you look at your trip details on delta.com, you can look at the available amenities for that specific flight, including what meal service is available for the cabin that you are in. Also be aware of any potential schedule changes that could impact that between now and time of the flight.

I haven't flown a lot recently, but MSP South (to the left of the DL check in desks) security has a SkyPriority (including FC) elite line that goes into PreCheck, with those not having PreCheck being escorted to another line at the document check point. When you enter the checkpoint, it should be the lane on your extreme right. The CLEAR lane is next to it (on the right) and also goes into PreCheck for those who qualify.

As far as food is concerned, on my last four flights we got a small water, small package of almonds, and a biscotti biscuit. In first class we were also offered snack boxes with salami, cheese, goldfish crackers, etc. it’s pretty slim pickings! At least, they’ve discontinued the cheeseX. . We’ve had no trouble with long lines with security. We are CLEAR recipients thanks to being Delta Diamond. We usually get through in about 5 minutes.

Delta is changing flight schedules within 11 days of departure ?

This flight had a change last month, the ~7am departure time was moved to ~6am.

Unlikely, but you never know.

In first class, you get your choice of 4 different boxes of junk "food". Get the "new yellow one", was at least a fun treat. Not a meal.

Does the SkyPrority line merge to PreCheck for those eligible? My understanding was that it did NOT merge into PreCheck, even for those who are eligible (the only line that merges is CLEAR). When we went through a few months ago, Mrs. tardyturtle's PreCheck info didn't stick to the reservation, so she used SkyPriority, but it directed her way to to the end of the security area (far from the PreCheck line) and I didn't see a merge point if she had been PreCheck eligible for that trip.

Also, OP should know that it has been reported that gate agents have been moving travel companions who chose not to sit next to each other in order to have adjacent blocked seats at the gate to open up space for upgrades, so you may not get a whole row of two seats to yourself, especially if on the same reservation.

Now I'm not sure about the SkyPriority line going to PreCheck. I always use CLEAR/PreCheck and I see the line to my right also mostly going through SkyPriority, but maybe that's the PreCheck line rather than the SkyPriority line.

Yes, the line to the right of CLEAR/PreCheck that merges with Pre-Check is the general Pre-Check line.

CLEAR is a single lane at MSP. After you've been verified on the kiosk, the CLEAR employee escorts you down the lane and either deposits you near the front of the PreCheck document checker (most people) or takes you to the regular document checker (never happened to me, but I've observed other passengers being taken to the nonPreCheck area).

Can confirm, I had the misfortune of not having PC on one of my flights last month. The ambassador actually caught it before I did --guess it's the joy of routines.

They mark the lane as PreCheck with a green background behind the text on the sign but can redirect you to standard if needed once they clear you at the kiosk.
