Why is this at a DL Gate?
Below the Jetway at Delta's gate F6 in PHX is this gas grill.

Shake Shack too expensive upstairs?
Maybe they put stuff in there to "cool off" from the PHX summer heat?
It even has a couple of cleaning utensils hanging from the shelf.

Would hope there's not a propane tank behind those grill doors. If so that would seem to be a bigtime safety violation and issue.
I'd consider reporting that to DL/PHX airport authorities because if there is a propane tank in that grill a number of things could transpire -- all of which have bad endings.

As a (former) airline employee (at corporate office) whose HQ is minutes away from its main hub, I've had plenty of BBQ burgers/hotdogs on the ramp and in the sterile area for various events (recognition, safety fairs, and the like). Totally normal -- but I agree it looks out of place.

It's in an open ventilation area.
It's in an area marked "keep clear" (I assume of any vehicles or anything that could inhibit said "open ventilation").
It has what, a 5 gallon propane tank ? A size deemed acceptable for home use.
It's located how far from aircraft fueling pits/areas ? A distance that surely exceeds the dimensions of my backyard.
To the OP,
I'm DL Plat and PHX based, but it's been a month & half since I've been thru that terminal. So I'm clueless as to what outlets might still be open in the terminal, but I'd bet it's limited.
So I'm guessing this grill is for some "social distancing" (only the "DL PHX family" BBQ while at work) .... vs eating upstairs with the few passengers who have been in contact with how many folks while traveling.
Nice pics of the NBBQDL plane.
Continental had something similar. I had a meal from it at one of the CO sponsored DO's.
OMG, it was inside a CO hangar at IAH. With at least a 737 & 757 inside the same hangar !! I'm soooo lucky to still be alive today

Just never saw one before on any ramp at any airport in decades.
Although in about a month they will be able to drop a pack of hot dogs on the sun-drenched hood of the pushback Tug and get pretty close to the same experience.

Lol, as someone who has spent A LOT of time on the ramps of pretty much every major airport in the country, BBQ grills are pretty common, and the propane is not a safety issue whatsoever. The Boeing 767 that I typically would fly holds between 16-24K gallons of fuel, and is typically fueled at the gate.
My only issue with the pic and the grill, is that it appears to be nicer than the one I have at home!

Funny thing I remember about working with guys on the ramp back in the day was actually the guys working the midnight shift used to the grills more than anyone. Somewhat out of necessity since all the airport concessions would be closed-up. And, those hot summer nights that were pretty quiet was a good time to throw some meat on the grill and most of the bosses weren't around too often either at 1am.
