If it has a DL flight number, DL staff working the gate (there are DL Red Coats in AMS at the gates, employed by Delta) and DL crew on board, it is a Delta flight. And Delta's rules apply on their own flights, per their own terms and conditions of the SkyMiles program (of which upgrading is a part of).

Non-sequitor. AMS still has significant problems, basically running a first come, first served type of auction, rewarding any passenger instead of the airline's most loyal.

If this was even true, they would be headquarters type employees and if they were confirmed, they wouldn't be on the standby list below the OP in priority numbering.
