Not yet on Delta, but was on a first revenue flight for US Airways once, the livery I recall was US Air but interior was America West. It was during their merger and for the life of me I don't remember which airline I had booked the flight with.
Anyway I recall it because the Captain said it was the plane's first flight, then realized what he said and to not cause panic, back peddled faster than the plane was going to say the plane had flown before, many times, just that this was the first flight with paying passengers. What made it worse was he was explaining the mechanical delay when he brought up the first flight. Yeah it was a little awkward. But I did enjoy the new plane smell.

I was on the first revenue flight for one of DL's 739s shortly after they started taking delivery...the excitement of that wore off rather quick Got upgraded to 1D last night - not sure what was worse: the middle C+ seat or 1D so I took 1D.

It was SLC-SEA, so I figured the PDB would help ease any discomfort. I did receive a PDB, but they have been anything but consistent of late.

Back in my system ops days I got to do some delivery flights. That was a lot of fun...for the first hour or so, then it's just like any other ferry flight.

One of my best friends was the lead flight attendant on JetBlue's first A321neo flight yesterday, JFK-MCO. They had swapped it from another plane and he didn't even know about it until I told him that morning! It has a brand-new entertainment system and memory foam seats. He said the plane was nice.

I flew a few different first revenue flights on AA DFW-ORD (unknowingly until the pilot announced it) back when they were getting them into the fleet at a rapid clip.

A few years ago I did the first revenue flight of a 739 on ATL-MCO. Total random luck.

I’ve never flown on the first revenue flight of an aircraft, but a few years ago when DL first got the A321s and they were only running on MCO-ATL, I flew on one that had just entered service that morning and it was the aircrafts 5th revenue flight. It felt strange because I didn’t notice a new plane smell on it when I boarded.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but hopefully cool things like this can stay alive.
I remember well flying on the first revenue service of N585NW, a Boeing 757-351, on NW175, MSP-SEA, Friday November 29, 2002 (the day after Thanksgiving). The aircraft was beautiful, although we departed about an hour late because of a tech issue. It was also my first B753.

So does the memory foam seat remember the ... of the last passenger that sat in it? Hmm, this seat doesn’t feel right. Feels like some wide ... was here before me.
