Monday 7/1 BWI - MSP -- Cleared into F at the gate (#7 for 7 seats), my traveling companion was #8 for 7 seats
Monday 7/8 - MSP-BWI -- I went with FCM into F, but flight had an upgrade list of 40+ so would've had no chance
Tuesday 7/9 AM - BWI - DTW- Cleared into F at the gate
Tuesday 7/9 PM- DTW - BWI -- Cleared into F at T-24 (will go out with 8 empty FC seats)
YTD - 9/18 (50%) . Moral of the story - happy to be a BWI based FO.

PM:
RDU - AUS, CR9, corporate T fare #4 for 0 (after declining to spend the $99 offered up until night before departure) -- was surprised not to clear but 5B good enough
AUS - ATL, A321, corporate T, cleared at PM window (some weirdness with it giving me option to choose seat but not clearing and then me de-selecting upgrade and re-selecting upgrade and it cleared instantly)
ATL - RDU, A321, corporate T, #10 for0 (same weirdness as above but by the time I went through the process above the ATL - RDU map no longer showed any F and never showed up again)

So definitely not complaining but I had a very surprising upgrade clear this morning at the gate. I was #19 for 1 seat, and somehow I cleared the list. I had an aisle exit seat in Y and didn’t even clear into C+ first which was about 10 people long.
Does anyone one know why I would skip 18 people and be upgraded? My only thought is that I waited to board until Main 2 or 3 was called and I may have been the only person on the upgrade list that hadn’t already boarded?
this was PDX-JFK and flight was completely full. Thanks!

7/12 DL 3332 GSO-DTW CRJ-900 PM on a K Fare: Cleared at T-120
7/12 DL 456 DTW-PWM 717-200 PM on a K Fare: Cleared at ~T90
7/14 DL 2588 PWM-ATL MD-88 PM on an H Fare: #9 of 27 at Boarding
7/14 DL 2729 ATL-GSO MD-88 PM on an H Fare: Cleared at ~T60
Shocked by how elite heavy PWM-ATL was.
Now 68.57% (24/35) on the year.

7/12 SFO-MSP (V) 739
7/14 MSP-SFO (SkyPesos) 75H/D
Both flights were the last one of the evening in each direction, and had extremely sparsely populated F cabins and cleared at the DM window. I didn't pay close attention but something like 3 gate upgrades eastbound and 1 westbound.

As for PWM, we're not that elite heavy, it's Summer season up here and Delta sells lots of cheap upgrades.

For those who travel on this route and knows the trends, is this a Medallion heavy route? If not, what are the chances that I'll get the upgrade as a Gold Medallion? Having never flown Delta internationally as an upgrade eligible passenger, do the medallion windows apply here, or does everyone just get upgraded at the gate?
I'll be flying this route on the same aircraft (CR9) in September, middle of the month, on a Thursday, if that helps/matters.
