Good start to the morning. Today I can also start to put my foot down/weight bearing. And just had an honest to god shower and a hot breakfast....things are looking up.

What is the best liquor in Asia Airport and Hotel Lounges
Been treated to some Conrad, IHG hotel, and misc airline lounges traveling in Asia. All of the spirits are always the same:
olmec tequila (crap that isn’t a 100% agave tequila)
Jack Daniels
Johnny Walker Black
Bacardi
Gordons from England
Given a choice, it’s Jack straight up.
Wondering if the Gordon’s is the same as the bottom shelf crap in America. I tried it, and did not seem equal to Bombay Sapphire from home. Is America Gordon’s the same as English Gordon’s?
Is there something here that is not boring and mediocre?

American Gordon's is not the same as English Gordon's. You'll have to try it and decide for yourself. I personally do not care for Sapphire, and stick with Beefeater or Tanqueray.

um, some people don’t like Scotch, and I’m reasonably sure a lot of others (myself included) far prefer most any single malt to even a reasonably well-known blend like JW Black ... I seem to remember hearing that Cardhu (one of the first single malts for which I developed a taste, but now very far down the favorites list) is the principal malt in JW, but I’m not sure if the blend ratios are the same for all the color varieties

Given those options, I'd probably go for beer or wine.

Greetings from the SFO SC. I can see the smoke from here, and smell it from both sides of the bay, although not all the time (depending on the wind).

I was thinking about organizing a DO in the beginning of December here in NYC. I wanted to ask you guys first if, should any of you have any desire to come, there was a preference in date. There hasn't been an event here in six months and I could always use an excuse to go to the city. I'd also have to find a good venue... maybe the Second Avenue Deli or the Rock Center Cafe, or maybe even Chinese food in Flushing (which is pretty close to LGA).

Same.
I think so. I'd be hard-pressed to get there in December as it is usually our busy season at work.
