Kipper if you keep your knee elevated that might help. An ice-cold beer or a pint of ice cream can double as something cold to keep on your knee to reduce swelling.

navi_jen I'm so glad everything went well. The same advice could go for you too... you've certainly earned it!

Yep. I can take a shower day 4. Very much looking forward to it They gave me a Scopamine patch for nausea during surgery, and it dried out my throat something awful. And the nerve block is definitely starting to wear off. Throbbing, but bearable pain. Next arrival of the happy pills at noon.

Pumpkin is staying with the sitter, but I've been promised puppy home care 2x a day until Killer returns home.

Thanks for the well wishes. I still owe you a response to your PM. Will get it this week or next. Plenty of free time on my hands (lol).

I'm a big frozen peas fan for icing...though the reward of eating peas is not nearly as much fun as ice cream or beer.

Thank you GW. Looking forward to being off for the month. I'm taking it NICE and slow on the road to recovery. Surprisingly, I can start PT on Monday, super happy about that.

Had a very decent nice sleep in my comfy recliner. 90 minutes snooze, 30/60 minutes awake. Having a night nurse made ALL the difference.

Now, just hanging around, awaiting the arrival of the Great Pumpkin and more happy pills at noon.

I hope you and kipper do a good job of pampering yourselves.

Recover well.

Couch is a location. Potato is more of a position or a state of existence.

It is so beautiful here today! While I was waiting for my grandmother at the doctor I sat in the car with the windows rolled down and the sunroof open! I hope it stays like this a little while longer.

Home and comforted on my new leather recliner. Super comfy. Pain well managed and my night nurse is fabulous. Not looking forward to tomorrow/today only because the nerve blocker will wear off.

Kipper sorry to hear you are in pain. Have you considering dialing back for a few weeks?
It's not in my DNA to dial back! Glad surgery went well for you!

I’d suggest elevating the knee and keeping a beer in each hand ... seriously, hope you get to feeling better

If I use hte beer for ice, it'll get warm. The ice cream would melt.

I could shower on day 3 and it was an amazing shower! I found my throat was horribly dried out after surgery as well.

They gave me a scopolamine patch for nausea. 2nd on the list of reactions is dry throat. My throat has definitely started to return to normal once I removed the patch. Who knows

Stuck in DFW airport. My original flight was cancelled. Somehow, a phone agent confirmed me on the next flight (actually an earlier flight but it's still at the gate). My co-worker is #40 on the standby list. We have pilots but are waiting for FAs. The gate next to us has FAs and is waiting for pilots. Seems like they could at least get one of these flights out of here.

Pilots are qualified for specific aircraft types, but FAs for DL are required to know every aircraft type that DL operates (not including DeltaConnection). So if both were mainline flights, the FAs in principle could have been reassigned to the flight that had pilots, but it's more complicated in that FAs are needed for their next flight(s), have rest requirements, etc. Of course, hubs have limited numbers of reserve FAs available to work flights on short notice.
