Free checked bags on basic economy w/Delta Amex?

Free checked bags on basic economy w/Delta Amex?
Hi
I just booked a basic economy on a short flight from LAX to SJC. DH has the Delta skymiles Amex and we usually get 1 free checked bag each on checkin (even when I purchase the tickets with my non-Delta credit card, so long as he checks us in at the kiosk using his Delta CC)
Does anyone know if this is true on Basic Economy? We will have checked bags. Should’ve asked before I booked as it was only $25 per extra for the main cabin...
