When to expect confirmation email

Hi all, I booked a flight earlier today and made note of my confirmation number, but have not received a confirmation email yet. Reservation looks fine on delta.com but am wondering if it's strange that I didn't get an email. Does it take more than 5 hours?

I usually get my confirmation email/receipt in 5-10 minutes.

Maybe your email on file is wrong?

You can always view your receipt on-line in your account and email it to yourself.

was this just a regular old delta ticket, or did it involve partner flights?

I booked a flight on delta.com last night (one-way on DL metal). As of this afternoon, I still haven't gotten an email confirmation. What's more, I pulled up my booking on delta.com and requested that the receipt be emailed (twice, each time to a different email address hosted on a different domain), and I still have not received it.

What is interesting is that I did get the "Your Upgraded Seat" email this morning, so that's working for me, but the email confirmations are not.

In answer to previous questions, yes, it was just a domestic roundtrip on Delta metal.

I logged in to manage my booking and also tried sending my receipt to two different emails. That didn't work. But, when I requested a copy of itinerary be forwarded to someone else and copied to me, both were received successfully.

The email on file is correct and all looks good on my delta acct profile despite this email "weirdness" if that's the word for it.

I've only had that happen once. I never did receive the regular confirmation email, but I contacted Delta on Twitter who sent me some email version which showed I was booked.

It only happened the one time, like I said, but it was very frustrating.

All that matters is was it ticketed or not. If under receipt you see a ticket number and status is OPEN or ARPT for all segments, then you are good.

Now, that did work! At this point I think it must be something on DL's side rather than ours.

The email confirmations are useful because TripIt auto-imports my itineraries from my emails. (In this case, TripIt was able to process the upgrade notice and update my itinerary accordingly, but that won't always be the case.) I also retain email confirmations (which unlike the itinerary emails contain ticket numbers and full pricing info), so it would be nice to receive these without having to manually request them.

I had several trips this week and never received the normal confirmation e-mail. I contacted Delta on Twitter who offered to send the confirmations to me, but were not very concerned about finding the root cause of the problem.

After your report, OP, I'm more certain that this is a problem on Delta's side, but less certain that they think it's a priority to fix.
