CS Rep insulting me re: Delta One in LAX
I just returned from LAX to JFK. Upon arrival at Delta One in T2, there was no one there and I was sent to the regular escalator ride to security upstairs. Not to mention I was then redirected to T3 for my flight. That cattle carried on the bus is not fun right after surgery!
I wrote in to file a complaint about the accommodations. Very quickly, I received a phone call from the Platinum people asking me all about my bad experience. This rep actually said that she will have to call LAX to CONFIRM my story. Now, if any of you have paid the incredibly expensive price of flying D1 from LAX to JFK, you expect that part of that price includes the D1 lounge experience like it used to be at T5. I got none of that whatsoever.
So, this CSR says that as a gesture they will offer me 5,000 points. I suggested that that was somewhat of an insult, so she says that since I didn't miss my flight that there is NOTHING they can do.
I am a Million Miler, multi-year Platinum and a loyal customer.
Is this some new measure that Delta is instituting? To totally treat their top tier people like this?
Anyone else have any similar experience? I am so upset with them right now, I am ready to with carriers.

I had a good experience checking in at the D1 desk at LAX a few weeks back. No wait, friendly representative, escorted to the front of the pre-check line.
A few days later, my friend checked in at the D1 area at LAX and was questioned if he was actually flying D1/qualified to be in this section, was barely let through, not escorted to security, etc.
The check in area is a great idea if they can execute it consistently. Sorry to hear about your experience.

So that's the insult? Being sent with coach passengers to the regular escalator and being called upon to ride the bus with them? You're going to make the Entitled/insufferable passenger board at that Delta CS center.

The "Find more posts by ___" feature on the full desktop version of FT is sometimes interesting especially on users with low post counts...
Maybe this time will be the last straw

3Cforme,
It wasn't that at all. I just had surgery and was hardly able to walk. The only reason I paid for D1 was for all of the convenience that they brag about (and having experienced it once before at T5).
I am no better than ANYONE. I just felt like I didn't get anywhere near my money's worth. And for the CSR to tell me that she would have to call LAX to VERIFY my story?!
I flew out from JFK in coach BTW.

Bye! I don't think Delta will miss you.
Your statement that "I am not better than ANYONE" does not agree with your referral to your fellow passengers as cattle. Hate to break this to you, but you are part of the herd and probably not the top bull either!
Considering your posting I have a feeling that your attitude comes across loud and clear to the CSA and you are getting what you give
Although using the "Find More Posts .... " as suggested above does indicate that there might be a problem finding travel providers who live up to your standard. Perhaps private jets are the way to go?

If OP required special medical attention, DL has a process for that. It has nothing to do with whether he flying on a fully paid D1 fare or on the cheapest BE routing to be found.
Yes, it was a bit of a customer service fail that the D1 desk wasn't staffed at the time OP arrived and that OP was thus rerouted with the steerage passengers, but these things happen and it is how DL handled it that matters. 5K miles seems extraordinarily generous for the minor inconvenience ---- bearing in mind that OP's medical needs are irrelevant for this purpose ---- and it is far from insulting that DL says that it will follow through with local staff.
OP's notion that if you've had surgery you get 10K miles or whatever it is, is way off the charts.
OP clearly does not like DL's service. Fortunately, both AA, UA, and B6 all offer a premium product to NYC, so he has choices.

^^ On the low-end there is assistance for mobility challenged pax and on the high-end there is VIP Select - OP could have used either service if walking or going up stairs is problematic.

If you had read the words carefully, you see that I was referring specifically to the BUS. The people on there with me agreed that we were all crammed in together and too tightly. Thanks for the flame though.
