Delta 777-200ER/LR Conversions to 7HD & 7HB. Pre-mods config is 37J/36W/218Y. For all the ERs and the first LR, post-mods config was initially 28J/48W/220Y (7HD/7HB). The post-mods config for all ERs and LRs is now 28J/48W/90Y+/122Y (7CD/7CB).

UA has J in a 1-1-1 configuration on their 767s, don’t see why this would be a problem. Earlier you stated that D1 would take a huge cut in capacity if the suites are installed, but DL has already shown they don’t care about J seat counts as the 777s, 763s, and 350s took a loss in seat count from their predecessors.

However I believe the UA seat doesn't extend past the length of bulkhead. Yes, DL has cut back on J on its bigger planes. However the majority of 767 never had high number of J seats to begin with. I could understand the high density 767s getting J reduced to the same as the low density. Just don't see and so far there's been nothing at all suggested about 767 getting suites. In fact it's been constantly stated only the A350 and 777 will get suites. Orders would be needing to be placed now since first 767 refreshes start next year. Thus I think would've heard already that 767 was getting suites. Heck, new A330 that were just delivered in last year don't have suites.

There was something a year ago mentioning the 767-400 getting suites, but I can't find it anymore.

That's great when demand for business class slows (e.g., a recession), but when it's strong, and your competitors haven't cut capacity as much, you're leaving a lot of money on the table. You can only raise your fares so high to offset (those pesky competitors). I'm sure they didn't make this decision without tons and tons of analysis, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's ultimately the right decision.

My understanding is there is some sort of exclusivity agreement between Zodiac (the manufacturer of the new "Polaris" Polaris seats) and United, where Zodiac can't offer that seat to any other carrier for a period of 5 years. I googled and searched for this, but turned up empty-handed, so maybe I saw it on a TV or online video report instead. Maybe if someone can find a reference to that, they can post it. I am not sure if the 763ER enhanced seats are covered under that exclusivity agreement or not ... nor if there would be patent issues if Delta found another manufacturer to mimic that seat.

(still, your point is well-taken ... that is a great seat and a great config for that particular airplane!)

I have a 100% upgrade % since switching to United and enjoying it! Ill glady pay $200 more each way over he pacific for the much better upgrade chances, better setas (even the old ones), better food, better service (DELTA IS OVER-RATED with crap service) and a better program. DL is the epitome of corporations who take clear advantage of you and create a false image of who they are. Delta is the biggest bait and switch airline in the US.

Also . United 777 has 60 Biz seats.. DL ... 28??

I still don't understand why people give DL their business? What is it? The flights are never on time, the service is bad, the Skymiles program sucks, the food onboard is worse than UA or AA.. I just don't see what anyone sees in this airline.

Have two LR flights for next May (2019) scheduled. Fingers crossed for the retrofits to hit in time!

Really? You're comparing UA to DL on bait and switch? The airline that rolled out Polaris with huge fanfare in December 2016 and took almost a year to be able to provide a true E2E Polaris experience (Polaris lounge on the ground and straight onto a Polaris equipped plane) and almost 18 months to provide it on a regular basis (when EWR/SFO Polaris lounges opened)? The same airline that rolled out Polaris and almost immediately started cutting the very things they were promoting? The same airline that launched Polaris with huge fanfare and then didn't open a second Polaris lounge until 2018? The same airline that's still flying 2-4-2 over the Pacific? The same airline that will continue to have 2-2-2 on a big portion of their fleet (788 and 789) for the foreseeable future?

Okay

The exclusivity agreement is specific to other North American carriers only.

"United has exclusive North American rights to the layout, while the new Zodiac Optima will be available to airlines in the rest of the world."

My experience is Delta = always late. Almost Every ATL- Anywhere Flight I had in Q1 was late . DFW-LAX was late 4/5 times.

United screwed up the Polaris rollout. But I really like their old Continental planes. Those seats are comfy and I find the food in Polaris blows Delta out of the water. United Polaris lounges are now popping up and they are amazing. Delta has nothing when it comes to lounges. Once the 777s are refit, I guess they won’t have many business class passengers either. The Delta One food is just gross , and the service onboard Delta in D1 doesn’t come close to United. I’ve had nothing but good service on Polaris old seats and new. I also earn miles that can be used at good value. Skymiles /Skyteam is trash. I disliked all my Sky team flights overseas , especially the lounges. Delta 777s now are the worst business class products of the US carriers. I’ll take the United 2-4-2 over the herringbone. I sleep really well and the padding is great , nice big screens as well.

This is i I guess what makes the world go round.

Delta definitely has its negatives. Being on time is not one of them. I can’t even remember the last time I had a delta flight that was late arriving

You'll take 2-4-2 over an award winning business class suite product? Don't get me wrong, it's doesn't compare to Singapore Airlines' First, but good lord. Your post is rooted in nothing but United fandom.

Its to late for you, you have already lost all your credibility. I mean “ I’ll take the united 2-4-2 over the herringbone”?? And the “Delta one food is just gross” what are you, 13?
