Once I was forced to overhear a guy first having a long and explicit phone call with someone that I assumed was a girlfriend/mistress and then a second call to the wife trying to convince her that he wasn't having an affair and that it all was her imagination, with her being a bit nuts.

Hmmm. Well, lessee. Ignoring extreme temperatures, and even really hot temperatures, which I'm sure speed things up a bit ... and presuming, for statistical modelling's sake, a standard, perfectly round cow-product which makes its way though life, in the environs of a standard, perfectly round carry on... at temperatures in the center of the bell curve of such round objects:

Other than the an-aerobics, once it's SEALED, (presumably, evacuated beforehand), how is it going to get oxygen for anything bad to happen?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go check on my collection of Tillamook cheeses, which I keep in the outer top slot of my Pathfinder luggage, right next to the three remaining emergency granola bars I bought at the Berkeley Trader Joe's a few years ago.

Were you at all temped to grab the phone and say "I'm sorry, he called his mistress BEFORE he called you ... "?

What hotel lounge doesn’t allow you to take food or a bottle of water to your room?

Drinks are usually fine but many, especially in Europe, don't allow food to be brought out of the lounge.

Most of my stays are at Marriott (some form of them), and I have never encountered that...

I guess I have been lucky.

Asia - my reference was Asia.
Europe

P.S. Keep in mind many Asia hotels with executive lounges frequently force you to check-in at the lounge (front desk or bell man escorts you) as they have full time staff (minimum two) sitting at the desk at all times. Way different from Americas (excluding some South America locations).
