Delta One 777 Seats

Am booked for a couple on Delta Flight 40/41 Lax/Syd.
Looking at seat map if we want to be across from each other the seat map looks like the middle seats are 1 row off from the window seats. Am I correct that 2A would line up with 3C?

For a couple are you better booking the 2 center seats.
Thank You

We travelled NYC to Lhr on 777 in D1 last week or so and took the two center seats. Could hardly communicate with one another due to layout. Would definitely sit across the aisle from one another if you'd like to chat.

Here's a view from 3A; it looks into 2B. The middle section is terrible for couples, IMO.

There's many, many threads on this topic in you want to search further.

Are you sure it was DL and on JFK-LHR? That's always been a 767 route and looking at schedules it still is. Could you have been on a different route or airline? JFK-CDG does have them on the route, perhaps that was it?

DL only flies 767 to LHR. 777 haven't flown there in a year or two.

We've flown on trans-Atlanta first/business on BA, AA, and DL metal (747, 777, 767, and 330 configurations) several times now in the past five years and have pretty much given up expecting to be able to chat during the flights. I don't remember what our expectations were on our first trip but it became quickly obvious that the "suites" were designed for privacy and not for idle chitchat. As it is, especially on the overnight outbound flights, that two to three hours into the flight dinner has been served and it's pretty much lights out. We still get center adjoining seats but with little expection of actively sharing the flight and at times have actually taken window seats in adjoining rows.

That's an understatement. Here are just a handful. I really wish these threads would be consolidated, but unlike over in the UA and AA forums, that doesn't seem to the culture here.

To try both ways I chose 6BC on the way to Sydney and 3A/2B on the way home- From the seat map it looks like 3A/2B align better than 3A/3B. Am I correct?

Exactly; as discussed in the previous threads on this topic, on the 777, the center cabin seats are offset from the window seats in the same row. So, if you are in 3A and want to talk to someone in 3B, you will both have to lean forward pretty far. Talking to your neighbor in the center seats is like talking over your shoulder.

Been sitting in 7a for about 13 hours (with 3 more to go thanks to a mechanical).
Not a fan of these at all. Feels very narrow to me.

However I feel I could talk to 6a very easily if I knew the chap by leaning over a bit. Maybe he is tall.

Agreed on that. Definitely one of the weaker J offerings, though not as bad as the 767. The 747/A330 seat is far superior.
