Meanwhile...
My flight home 10 days ago had a standby list over 100. Only 7 seats cleared. My first flight last night had a standby list of 85, and about 10 seats cleared. Door closed with 70+ on the list. Second flight was oversold by 3 and had gate agents begging for volunteers for a $600 voucher, with only being able to promise a 4PM next-day departure (every other flight sold out). Guy standing next to me had already taken a $1000 voucher to take this flight as the previous one was also sold out. |

I flew EWR-TLV on UA two weeks ago when the OP started this thread and my flight was packed. 99-100% full. Flew back last week and it was 95-97% full. Jealous I wasn't able to spread out like some of you were.

DL 401 JFK - LHR on Feb 27 was about 40% full in coach last night. 6 seats in D1 went out empty, after nonrevs were cleared. I had a bulkhead C+ window row to myself!

The standby lists were for ATL-MCO and MCO-ATL. Vouchers/oversold was ATL-PVD.

FL desperately needs widebodies back. Especially during the summer between massively overbooking and weather delays. Some aircraft sit on the ground in ATL all day between international turns. Why not have them operate some quick turns like they once did?
I understand Florida is notoriously low margin flying. I imagine adding the additional costs of an international widebody only hurts profitability further... |
My AMS-DTW flight tomorrow is showing 208 seats available in the app (would be 31% load if it holds). I know those seat counts may not hold due to sold but unassigned seats not yet checked (since all needs to happen at airport) but its a good indication it won't be full I would say. EF is showing all coach wide open (E9 even) and some biz (J5).
