Not Delta, but I've been keeping an eye on UA upgrade lists ex-CVG to gauge my potential upgrade chances if I give them a go. There have been several flights in the last few days with 10 or less people on board (mostly CRJ7s an ERJ175s).

MCO, or at least the touristy part of Orlando, is generally light the weeks between MLK and President's day (not inclusive). Snowbirds are already in place and a lot of vacationers plan around either of the school holidays.
Also, Mon evening through Thurs morning tend to be lighter loads ime, as most folks start their vacation Fri-Sun and consultants come home Thurs or Fri night. |

Yup, Mar 1 through the end of Easter week is nightmarish. Mosh pit boarding, mosh pit deplaning (due to mosh pit boarding waiting for the plane)... I'm not looking forward to it.

I'll add some more data points from Monday night:
BOS-JFK ~90% JFK-DCA ~40% |

Interesting, although in my experience MCO-JFK is about the easiest upgrade in the system. I've never not been upgraded even as a silver. Most of the time a couple of NRSA will even clear onto F on that flight. It makes up for the horrific odds on MCO-SLC/LAX unless it's a Saturday. SLC is very peculiar.

Middle of the week in February has to be one of the slowest times of year.
|
Perhaps people cancelled their flights preemptively in case of weather? But then the plane went out anyway?

SMF-PDX on 2/5 (AS metal) was 60% full
PDX-AMS on 2/5 was booked about 40-50% full in Y and 100% full in J with one upgrade processed at the gate out of a list of 3 hopefuls LHR-PHL on 2/10 was booked about 60% full in Y and 100% full in J, but 3 of the J seats went to non-revs at the gate of the passengers in Y on the LHR-PHL flight, close to 50% of them were a school-aged group traveling together PHL-SLC-SMF on 2/12 both flights were 90%+ full in Y and 100% full in F |

I did that cheap HKG flight from ORD last week, as a mileage run/mini vacation. I've never seen so many empty seats on multiple flights. I know February is slow, but I've never seen an ATL-MCO flight empty.
Friday 2/10 LAX-ATL on the 777. Packed plane, I was #3 of 83 on the upgrade list. (RUC fail, no seats available.) Friday 2/10 ATL-HSV on a 717. Packed plane, I was #11 of 40 on the upgrade list. Never ever saw that kind of upgrade list in or out of HSV. I ended up in a middle seat, which I can't even remember the last time I was in a middle seat on Delta. David |
2/14
SEA--BOI One open seat in FC C+ full C- half full/empty.....depends on how you look at things:cool: curious about the open F seat with C+ full. |
Although not DL, I flew Turkish Airlines Tues ATL-IST. Everyone in coach that wanted a four-across row had a full row to him/herself. It was like sleeping on a sofa. There was never a wait for the lav and FAs served meals in minutes.

Spring break travel season starts ramping up this week with President's Day weekend (a traditional mid-winter break for many school's in the north). We're still at the tail-end of the post-holiday's travel lull.
