Interesting times. Seems very much tailored for ICN-bound traffic, allowing for a full business day on the arrival into ICN and a full business day on the departure from ICN. Looks like KE will operate the daytime flight to ICN from ATL and will operate the early departure from ICN (morning arrival into ATL).

I just flew ICN-ATL on 7-30-17 and it was the same exact departure and arrival times.

The ATL-ICN flight was definitely changed to the overnight.

I see that now. I didn't realize ICN-ATL was already a late departure but makes sense given the current late afternoon arrival from ATL.

Looking at the times for DTW-ICN/ICN-DTW and ATL-ICN/ICN-ATL, I'm wonderingi if/ guessing that once both routes are being operated by the A350, the aircraft rotation will be ATL-ICN-DTW and DTW-ICN-ATL.

I wonder if Delta preferred an A350 on this route and the only way to route the airplanes was with a midnight-thirty departure? Or, was Korean asked about operating their ATL flight at night instead? I'm not sure if current levels of "soon-to-be-JV-immunity" preclude that discussion or not.

KE already has a few westbound flights at night from the USA to ICN, and indeed used to have a late-night ATL departure some years ago when KE's ATL service was double-daily.

Wouldn't a morning arrival and late departure cater just as well to connecting flights at ICN?

Booked a route to manila through ATL and ICN a few days ago. Arriving 10am ATL leaving for ICN at noon , arriving ICN 4 and leaving for MNL at 8, with the TPAC in D1 on a 777. Woke up this morning to find that the aircraft was switched to a 350 and in suites . But now the flight leaves Atlanta 10 hours before I arrive

I'm currently in 30G hoping for a GUC upgrade. Can't tell from the map if that's a good one or not. Might be better grabbing 40 or 41? Any other thoughts?

Just confirming there is no Comfort + on this aircraft? If this is correct, I'd like to propose this be specifically mentioned in the wiki at the top of this thread.

Nope. As the main A350 confirms, no C+. This thread really was a jumping of the gun. First flight isn't until Oct 30.

GUC to PS or D1

Need some advice. I'm on the A350 from DTW-NRT just a couple days after the launch. I'm GUC waitlisted for D1. I can upgrade now to PS but that would use my cert up and I would lose the opportunity to possibly upgrade to D1. On the other hand, if I wait and D1 sells out, I'll probably lose the opportunity to grab PS since there's not a lot of those seats left, and then would only probably get a middle.

Would you grab a PS aisle now while there's a GUC upgrade available or hold out for a possible D1 and risk a main cabin seat?

Could someone explain what the variation in D1 seat width and length is about? Do different seats in the D1 cabin have different specifications?

22-24" width, and 76-81" length

Thank you in advance.

For those asking for advice about this aircraft: It is impossible for anyone to give you any meaningful information at this point. This aircraft has never been flown with passengers.

For example, this question:

We have no idea how well either cabin will sell. Personally I would not waste a GUC on a PE seat, I would find a route that I could confirm it on at the time of booking.

Or this question:

Again, not having been in the cabin, nobody can know until it is put into revenue service. The only people who know (DL employees) are unlikely to respond on this board (they stopped posting on FT several years ago). In the past there have been slight variations in seat size. It could be that the center seats are one size and the window seats another. Or, it could be that the placement of a door or closet on one side meant that one whole vertical row (like all A seats) are a littler shorter. This was the case with the old BE seats on the 767.

In any case, there just is not any good information yet for choosing particular seats. Flyer talk will be a great resource for this once people start flying the plane.

I can only say that the pictures here:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...l#post28654875

do not particularly incentivize me to burn a GUC for Premium Select.

Ugh. Looks like Delta really put the economy in premium economy. It really should be 2-3-2 not 2-4-2.

Is VS the only carrier with PE seats that are 21" wide or is that standard? Trying to understand if DL is really trying to buck industry standards and make more money with a lower level product or if VS is unusual with it's extra width.
