The interior is in disrepair.
Tape connecting the carpet where the seam split.
The armrest between 2 a and b wobbles (might take a video to show it).
FA has told me twice to put the seat up before takeoff and it just goes right back into recline.
Armrest on the right could be pulled apart if I wanted to.

Not saying that makes it more acceptable, just that there are plenty of 20+ year old planes that someone might walk into and think are "brand new".

NW certainly was cocky for a puny little airline with an old poorly maintained fleet and no meaningful "network that added much value to DL.
In January 2007 as the DC-10 was retired they also had the gall to say the 747-400 was modern.

Aircraft maybe but NW malcontents have moved across the DL system. Obviously some areas are more concentrated than others.
