Currently sitting on a 26 year old A320

N311US
Looks every bit its age.
Wonder what a DL executive would think boarding this plane.

"Money money money"

Or "all 320s will have finished interior updates by end of next year" or something.

It's a proven reliable aircraft.

N311US will be retired next year, along with six of the oldest A320s. The remaining A320s will finish phase one of the refurbishment just before the commencement of the summer schedule.

What's the lifespan of those early A320 birds. Will they go a la the DC-9's and make it into their 40's?

EDIT: Longboater beat me to it. Posted the answer 1 min before this.

They're getting their money's worth out of this plane. Looks like it suffered a lot of damage on 5/4/09 in DEN due to a heavy landing.

The interior is in disrepair.
Tape connecting the carpet where the seam split.
The armrest between 2 a and b wobbles (might take a video to show it).
FA has told me twice to put the seat up before takeoff and it just goes right back into recline.
Armrest on the right could be pulled apart if I wanted to.

I'd be embarrassed to put this product out there if I worked at Delta.
Not a question of reliability. Feel perfectly safe.

Most of the A320s have been refurbed. There's a detailed thread noting progress by tail number.

This is worthy of a new thread why?

Why do you care what I post.
Are you a thread monitor?

Pretty clear what the thread was about. Don't like, don't click is my motto.

I'll be flying her same route Saturday morning. Think of it like visiting an museum dedicated to the 90's.

Lol, no, an Airbus won't make it 40 years.

Museum to the 90's...does that mean there is still an ashtray in the armrest? I hadn't seen one of those in ages, then I got on a DL 757 ex-NRT three years ago or so and there they were.

Where the ashtray used to be is definitely still visible. Snapped that picture also.
