Why cannot I book this on Delta ?

Why cannot I book this on Delta ?
I did a manual search on AF, and then used AwardNexus. They came with the same results. But when I fed the information to Delta agent, the answer was NO. This is for Dec 2nd 2016 booking.
So what kind of guidelines should I use if I see availability on AF, but trying to book via Delta (since I got SkyMiles) .. Please have a look @ the screen shot

Others will be able to give you a more complete answer, but briefly, DL has different award inventory for AF (and other airlines) flights, so even if AF has award space available, it might not be available by DL.

My advice: call DL and check availability just for the CDG-MRU segment. If available, you can add BOS-CDG on DL 188 which is available in coach on 12/2.
But generally speaking AF inventory is only available to Delta at 10-11 months out.

In order to book AF with skymiles, you need AF classic award space availability. You can check this on the AF site connecting with an FB account (if you don't have one just open one and you get access to award availability showing type of award space). With a few exceptions DL will then be able to book your award when calling in.
