The system is down?!?! SDC help
I tried calling Delta and was told the system is down and has been down since noon.
I'm trying to do a SDC, any way to do this via delta.com or the delta app? Don't want to bother @DeltaAssist I'm sure theyre working with more important travel issues at the moment.

Yes, click the check-in button, the click the link to search for other flights. It should give you the price if any to do so via SDC or SDS. However if DL can't do it on the phone, it's highly unlikely it can be done online.

You don't want to "bother" @DeltaAssist?
I remember seeing a poster in a customer service organization once where the tag-line read something like "Customers are never an interruption - they're our job".

Tried to SDC this week on a first class ticket. As usual the website didn't work, and only offered only a few choices for an additional $1,300. The Diamond line and a supervisor declined to process the change I requested because 1) it wasn't within 24 hours (it actually was), and then 2) because the fare class wasn't available (which shouldn't matter). The computer was blocking it for both of these reasons, and the supervisor declined to override until I read the agent the language verbatim from the website. Score one for Delta IT and SLCRES. SDC shouldn't be this painful.

what I noticed in the past hour or so was that the website was offering me SDC options for flights within a 24-hours-from-now window ... it wasn't yet 24 hours from the flight I wanted, but that option ** for today ** appeared in the list -- at a fee of something like $1280

I was unable to change this reservation on either the app or the website, so when I finally got thru to a real PM agent rather than the "We are experiencing technical issues" recording, I simply acted as if I had a routine request for an SDC
"Thank you for being a Platinum Medallion and a Million Miler; is there anything else I can do for you this afternoon?"
"Yes, in fact there is ... I'm sure you can see that I have a reservation for BWI-SEA on Friday ... "
"Yes"
"Well, if you look in the history, you'll see it was actually supposed to be for tomorrow ... since now I'm actually leaving out of DCA tomorrow, I need to cancel that BWI space, and since the rebooking mixup was entirely DL's fault, I'm requesting that you please waive the $200 change fee ... "
done and done
