None at all? That doesn't seem correct.

Somebody messed up. Sounds like perhaps the kits weren't loaded on to the flight.

The JFK-LAX/SFO routes should definitely be receiving amenity kits in D1. It should just be a matter of getting the old ones vs. the new ones.

So it sounds like I will get the soft case tomorrow when I do SYD-LAX. I got the old case on July 1 going LAX-SYD.

I need one of the hard cases so I should be able to grab one with upcoming flights like to/from ATH, PVG, and FCO.

Flew to China from US recently. Got the hard-side kit. Plus a bottle of champagne.

Which is why I did not post the flight; don't want the FA to catch any grief.

Two more data points. Eastbound TATL in early July, had the soft case. Soon after, another eastbound TATL, had the hard case.

Personally, I prefer the older cases. The new soft sided ones are better for re-use, but they have a weird, almost damp sticky feel to them.

Have others noticed that they have decided to save 3 cents by omitting the comb?

Related... have they also done away with slippers? Last 4 or 5 flights did not have them.

Which routes? And do you mean slippers or the socks? Slippers are only offered on long TPAC routes, along with the extra lumbar pillow, AFAIK.

Well so much for our to/from-US theory on who gets which case.

Or at least consistent application of it.

Flights of 12 or more hours get them and a smaller lumbar pillow in addition to the regular pillow. Lol yes it is definitely funny the minutia we talk about.
