Time to move on to AA. Just think.... You can also gain miles on actual miles flow.

I am not sure the fares are indicative of much.

I recently priced out CUN-SFO during the holidays and was surprised to find one-way economy award seats for 37.5k. The cash price on the most convenient routing was $1100. By contrast AA was offering tix for <$500 but wanted more miles. And VX is even cheaper but I'd have to overnight on the connection.

fares are indicative of what the airlines think individual markets will bear ... OP's profile says BNA, you are looking at SFO ... apples and oranges

Right now, it seems that Delta is maxing out the miles on a significant number of award tickets.
I have not been able to find any of what was formerly known as low award tickets. In fact, I have rarely found the mid tier either. Most are at or above the former max miles.
