Wrong name on ticket

Long story short, I booked a flight through my corporate travel tool (Amex/Concur). Somehow between there and delta.dumb my name changed from first name middle name last name to adding my middle initial to my first name and then my last name. My understanding from numerous threads is that this will cause me to lose precheck even though I have my known traveler number in the system. I called delta and they assured me there is no problem. Should I hang up call again to try to get the name corrected?

Thank you

As long as you have a last name match, and the rest is your first name followed by some mutilation of the rest, you are fine. The system is well used to seeing first+middle+prefix/suffix concantinations.

Of course, TSA is TSA ...

EDIT: If they have somehow flipped last with first/middle then you have an issue.

well it happens, and i think this has been discussed before,
bring your global entry card if you need to, they may just let you go thru pre-check still since a global entry approved person is Always pre check eligible

The name on your ticket and the Secure Flight Data are two different things.

Pull up your reservation online and you will see a section with your Secure Flight data. There is a phone number to call to correct it if it is wrong (must be done more than 72 hours in advance of the flight). Secure Flight data can be updated without changing the name on the ticket.

That is the way the system used to handle middle names.

Another DL IT trip in the Wayback machine?

My BP usually has Firstname Firstfourlettersofmiddlename Lastname. The last two letters of my middle name are dropped. Never a problem. It used to print out with the middle initial appended to the first name. That was never a problem either.

Secure flight and name on tickets are two different things.

From what I've seen at PreCheck lines, the TSA will reject passengers who present a Global Entry card if they weren't selected for PreCheck on the boarding pass. Since PreCheck is "randomly" unselected for trusted travelers, presenting a Global Entry card might not help.

Since it's the TSA, I'm sure their "policy" varies agent to agent.

One time my sister couldn't get through TSA with her Homeland Security ID. The TSO said only driver licenses and passports are valid ID... She just laughed it off and took a few minutes to pull out her wallet from her purse.

Nothing wrong with that; when presented with a type of ID never seen before, how would the officer know it wasn't some randomly invented piece of nonsense?

A TSA employee who didn't recognize a document produced by their own agency? You're far more forgiving than I am.

Actually, Global Entry is by Customs and Border Patrol, nothing to do with TSA. That said, I travel all the time with my Global Entry ID. No problems there. It's certainly a government-issued ID. Won't really work for getting in the PreCheck line though - I doubt many agents would allow that.

CPB and TSA are component agencies of DHS; the Smurfs need to get a clue.

The reference to the TSA agent not recognizing an ID from his own agency was regarding the sister who had a Homeland Security Pass, not Global Entry, so definitely it was his own agency

you'll be fine. My full name is too long to fit on the space provided on a BP. My first name and middle name always get put together, and my last name loses the hyphen and is sometimes missing the last letter or two. As said above the name printed on the BP is separate from the passenger information in the system. You should have no issues.
