Upgrade to EC on DTW-AMS-BOM-AMS-DTW?

GM flying from DTW-BOM-DTW on 10/17.

Will delta upgrade Medallion members to EC?

Thanks

There is no separate upgrade list for EC. If you want it, you have to pay. Only other way would be is if the rest of the cabin is full and all that is left is EC seats and they need to put pax there. Then you'd have a shot if you ask, but don't count on anything.

IIRC if you are medallion EC on Int'l flights are, if available:

- Silver: 25% Discount
- Gold: 50% Discount
- PM: Gratis
- DM: Gratis
- KM: They pay you handsomely to hold Thomas Hudson's Triple Wooodford.

As stated above, DL will discount EC for GMs. If you're not interested in paying, I suggest you look at the exit row (great leg room).

The only way DL might give it to you for free is, in the case of an oversell, maybe if they move higher elites into J and there's space they could maybe move you into. You could always ask at the gate, but I would not expect it for free.

Also, for details on EC, please see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...t-seating.html

Why not just reach for the stars and hope for a free OP UP to BE?

Don't think so. To get into EC you will need:

An oversold flight
An expensive ticket
DMs and PMs upgraded ahead of you

Enjoy the flight.

... or just pay the requisite amount of money for a EC seat.
