Agreed. It's been a long time since there's been anything I wanted to see or haven't already seen.

Had a pleasant surprise on Monday as for the first time ever I was able to watch a movie via Delta Studio on my Android smartphone (running the latest version of Marshmallow)! It did require installing a new Gogo player app "Gogo Entertainment" - I may have gotten lucky as they released an update for it on Monday.
I haven't been able to get DL Studio to work on any of my devices for quite a while, but I've got an M90 flight next week that I'll give it another shot on. I actually like some of the shorter TED talks and little travel shows they have since many of my flights aren't long enough to finish a movie. But really, since DL Studio became such a hassle, I've been enjoying just loading my tablet up with my own content at home the past little bit. Loads up instantly, I can easily pause/save where I am, and I can watch anywhere, anytime. No 10k feet nonsense. :) |

This is probably getting a little OT, but I'll post it anyways. For similar reasons (problems loading and having seen all the content), my new favorite for flying is the Amazon Video app. If you're a Prime subscriber, you can download videos to your phone or tablet for offline viewing for free. I've become a big fan of this for flying and for running on the treadmill at the gym. I wish Netflix would match, but I don't see this happening anytime soon.
What I do know is that there are a bunch of Netflix originals that I watch, and an airplane would be a very nice time to watch them. I'd even pay for a higher tier to enable that function (or, selfishly, be okay with them only allowing it on the current 4K tier we subscribe to :)). |

Ah, I didn't realize you could download Prime stuff. But I guess I haven't really even looked at it much. I think the only thing I've watched in a year and a half of Prime was Interstellar, which they added recently. How much space does a typical 2 hour movie take up on your tablet?

You can actually select different quality levels (Good/Better/Best) to manage the quality/size balance. Using the "Better" setting, it seems like the stuff I have downloaded is taking up about 1 gig per hour.

Android
Got it to work with my Samsung Galaxy S6. Prompted to download the new player, then all good. Lollipop.

Trying to work out if the additional $89 per passenger is worth it for our SEA-JFK trip. Is Delta Studio complementary in Economy? I know you have to pay for wi-fi.

All content is complimentary in Comfort+ and F/J. You do not have to pay for Wifi to use Delta Studio. |

Delta Studio June movies
Flying Delta one JFK-NRT-Bkk tomorrow.
We've been putting off watching "the Force Awakens", planning on watching it TPAC. Just pulled up the June movies and see it is not one of the featured films. Does anyone know whether it will be available from the largerr in-flight movie menu? My partner will kill me if, after putting this off, it's not available on the flight:D Could somebody flying and accessing studio one just let me know. Thanks |
I have no idea if it's available or not...but there are some movies that are just not meant to be watched on an itsy-bitsy screen.
Stick with something from the Ingmar Bergman retrospective ;) |
40 hours of flight time over the next 2 weeks.
The screens on the 777 200 aren't so small, but point well taken. Still would like to know whether its available..also will have a fair size laptop available for streaming |
