Any idea just how 'seasonal' some of the BOS routes are such as FLL/PBI? Definitely interested with them coming back, but for what time frame?

I am very happy to see that Delta is enriching their JFK-Florida service, as JFK is a good hub and easier to use in my opinion than LGA, with its long security lines (even though the terminals are nicer than they used to be). While I live equidistant from JFK and LGA in Central Nassau, I prefer JFK as it is slightly easier to get to and has shorter security lines. Also, with B6s many flights to FL, this will add some competition, which could help prices. I can't wait to use DL and JFK again .

Here are the new routes:
-New York-John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York, NY to/from Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), West Palm Beach, FL (Starting 12/20/2014):
DL496-Departs JFK@8:15AM and arrives PBI@11:30AM on a 738 (with IFE)
DL2644-Departs PBI@12:10PM and arrives JFK@3:10PM on a 738 (with IFE)

-New York-John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York, NY to/from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), Fort Myers, FL (Starting 12/20/2014):
DL1849-Departs JFK@8:30AM and arrives RSW@11:45AM on an M88
DL1849-Departs RSW@12:30PM and arrives JFK@3:30PM on an M88

And the service increases:
-New York-John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), New York, NY to/from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Fort Lauderdale, FL (up from 3x/day-5x/day starting 12/21/2014):
DL2422-Departs JFK@7:00AM and arrives FLL@10:23AM on an M88

DL1644-Departs FLL@12:15PM and arrives JFK@3:13PM on a 738 (with IFE)
DL2456-Departs FLL@3:30PM and arrives JFK@6:27PM on an M88
DL2659-Departs FLL@7:30PM and arrives JFK@10:27PM on an M88

Yawn. If Delta wants to really put a smile on my face with Florida routes then I suggest they bring back the following:

MCO-MIA (or FLL)
MCO-EYW (it's an awful drive)
MCO-VPS
MCO-SJU

Hey, don't forget those of us in TPA!

I would be very happy to have back the TPA-TLH, and potentially a TPA-MIA

WolfieG - from what I've seen JFK-PBI is mainly MD-88 although I wouldn't be surprised to see 738s on any route as a sub if there aren't enough -88s in service.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but DL is starting MIARDU on Saturdays only, beginning 20Dec. Flights are loaded and are available for sale.

The Delta website said a 738, but an MD-88 wouldn't surprise me. I like the MD-88s as the two seat side of the plane delivers some extra room, but the 738s are newer and have the added bonus of IFE. During the Song days and a little after, they used a 752 JFK-PBI, but that is unlikely as it would not be filled up. The only place I could see using a 752 would be JFK-MCO and perhaps JFK-FLL on occasion. Delta used a 752 on my January 2014 flight JFK-MCO and going back was on a 738. The 752 was 80% full and the 738 about 90%. Don't worry, DL will keep the JFK-Florida service as it has been around for a long time and besides MIA, they are only behind B6 out of JFK/LGA.

That's just another seasonal route. They do RDU-MIA on and off over the winter. They've also done RDU-FLL (which remains Saturday only the rest of the year), RDU-NAS and RDU-RSW in the last few years.
