In the past when I have flown with non-status companions, I have been able to request upgrades for them. In their reservation, the words "Upgrade Requested" appears by their seat numbers.
However, recently, I have noticed that "Upgrade Requested" is no longer appearing for my non-status traveling companions.
Is this a glitch or should "Upgrade Requested" appear on their PNR's as well. I called in twice and the agent told me that they were requested for the upgrade. However, I feel like they really aren't since the "Upgrade Requested" doesn't appear on the tickets.
Thoughts?

Yes - every time "Upgrade Requested" did not appear in the PNR before, the upgrade was not requested. Companion upgrades are very common on Caribbean routes and I wanted to make sure the upgrade was properly requested.Originally Posted by rylan
Something changed with how upgrade requests and waitlists are displayed... however I am suspicious as well about it actually working properly due to whatever changed.
My non-status wife has "Medallion Upgrade Requested" under her name on our upcoming trip. However, we are currently on the same PNR.
IIRC, in the past when I've requested UGs for those on separate PNRs, the notation also appeared on their PNR.

I had this issue when we were traveling on separate PNRs around Christmas. I tweeted @DeltaAssist twice and both times they confirmed she was on the upgrade list. Her name appeared on the app upgrade list and GIDS for both flights.
