At SEA, they allow a "gate pass" for whatever, as far as I can tell you don't need much of a reason, on there web page description they note getting a meal at one of the post security restaurants as valid? (though, if anyone claimed THAT'S why they wanted to get through airport security, I'm have them involuntarily committed to a mental institution).

I dunno how many airports offer something similar, it's on an airport by airport basis I think.

I don't think you're eligible for PreCheck and/or CLEAR with a pass and the gate pass certainly won't be accepted as a boarding pass for lounges that require them.

I used to do that all the time as a kid in the pre 9/11 world to eat dinner and watch planes
