The LA Kings moved to Delta this year after a few with Air Canada.

Delta operates at least one (I assume several) A319s in an all-first class configuration for use by NBA and NHL teams. Not sure of the aircraft numbers.

Can be extra section for holidays but plenty seats choose from and doesn't come up as flight to purchase SEA-DTW on 12/28. They did have 738 with personal AVOD yesterday now changed to overhead video icon

Maybe just random reposition of aircraft...
You could look at flightaware.com and put in the flight number. It often has a "track inbound flight" link that can show you where the aircraft is coming from/what flight it's operating as.

Today DL8900 will be taking the Auburn Tigers to LA for the BCS National Championship.
Supposedly DL8899 will be carrying additional personnel as well.

ATL-DUB Charter

DL-8836 (A350) currently flying ATL-DUB... probably a charter to bring stranded Americans back, otherwise a new cargo flight.

Per internal article, it was a cargo charter flight.

There are a lot of interesting charters going on bringing Mormon missionaries back to SLC. Last week saw four MNL-NRT-SLC flights. This week has a bunch from south and Central America, including a bunch of SCL-SLC flights. There were two EZE-SLC flights yesterday, plus widebody GUA-SLC and SAL-SLC flights.

Tomorrow there will be a SLC-SYD flight, and I imagine it will do that as a return route a few days later.

Ethiopian also flew a 777 and a 787 to SLC last week.
