Can someone refresh my memory, what was the cost of 10k MQM in the previous year sales?

If they follow the AA model it will cost a lot more. I plan to just roll over at 2k for 10000 mqm.

I believe 10K MQM was $999. If not exactly that it was certainly in the ballpark.

This is what I remember. Also 10,000 MQMs was that maximum number that one could purchase from DL (per FF account).

Suggest you do a positioning flight and then ... do a MR ... or two ...

Definitely coming. Platinum desk rep told me last weekend and even said to expect it before Thanksgiving.

Just don't do what this guy did

http://www.forbes.com/sites/edzitron/2013/02/04/delta/

Summary, make sure the MQM's will at least put you over 25K MQM's for 2013, otherwise there is no point in buying them.

Guy obviously isn't too familiar with frequent flyer programs if he is paying $450 a year on a Delta reserve card and only flew them 1,000 miles that year. That didn't make sense either. He obvoiusly didn't charge much if he only had 1K mqm's in his account and 1K would only mean one short trip on Delta so the skyclub entrance could have been paid for with 2-$25 day passes if he would have had the cheper delta gold card or for $50 with no am ex.

I wish they would bring back the 2010 offer of $15K for donating $500 to three different charities. Was great way to help out a few charities, get MQM's and get a tax deduction (and my chase card was giving a q4 5% cashback bonus on charity donations so that was really sweet) and the miles were also RDM's.

I didn't remember being able to buy the MQM's through January in the past though. Be a good way to get some minimum spending requirements meant on credit cards if you wait until 1/1 to buy the MQM's.

Plus he dis not seem to understand that he was purchasing 2012 MQMs that applied towards 2013 status.

This thread made me look back. Here is the TPG article about last year's program.

http://thepointsguy.com/2012/11/buy-...l-december-31/

Looks like it was announced on 11/15/2012... What is the date today?
