Based on observation to date, yes. Either the CSR was incorrect, or there is a major negative aspect to this program waiting for us after it goes live.

The Official Medallion Qualification Update Thread

Delta cannot accrue revenue until the purchased service is rendered. Therefore, MQDs will accrue when flown, not purchased.

I wish DL would release an official statement because if MQDs are actually linked to date of purchase then I may need to consider refunding expensive B fares and try out AA.

I am one of those who lost big with the EF OP inventory ordeal and then switching from SWUs because the new GMUs will cost me more at the end of the year than SWUs (only 2 RTs then must buy Z or higher).

They won't show up until the actual flight is taken; the question is whether they'll show up retroactively (which could be a major problem: someone flies 125,000 miles in 2014, but spends very little. On December 31, 2014, he buys $15,000 MQD of tickets for flights in November 2015. Suddenly, in November 2015, he becomes Diamond retroactively, and actually holds the status for only a little over 2 months.)

That scenario leads me to believe that MQD credit is as of the flight date, just like MQM credit.

This is answered in the FAQ's --
https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...lars-faqs.html

"Similar to Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) and Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs), your MQDs will post after each segment is flown."

When you spend is irrelevant. It's all about when you actually fly the flights.

That's what I believe; however, some stuff posts retroactively. That says when it will post, not the "as of" date.

I went through the FAQs 2 days ago, and this detail was not there. Looks like Delta just added it which answers the question clearly.

Correct that it only applies to those in the US, non-US customers can earn medallion status with MQMs or MQS only, as before.

You can change your address to a foreign address but you need to provide some proof of that address, and DL is on the lookout for fraudsters here, so if you change your address but your trips still all originate and end in the US or are mostly domestic you are taking a risk of DL shutting down your account, etc.

So again, probably a dumb question and one that has been covered but I could not find it in the many pages of this thread:

As I am an Internationally based PM, I do understand that MQDs do not apply to me and I am still on MQMs and MQSs. However, since I am still on MQMs, do I not get to roll any over? I had about 30K over PM status I was assuming would roll over into 2014, but I show 0 for MQMs and 0 for MQSs.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated as always ^

It will be some days before they show the rollover; they want to get the 2013 mileage credited correctly first.

As I recall from 2013, it was around the 10th that my rollover posted. It was more than a week.

I don't know if this is related in an IT sense (i.e. to when will rollovers post), but my 2 domestic flights on 1/1/14 posted rather quickly but still no miles, MQMs, or MQDs for JFK-SVO on the same day. I sent an e-form to DL but nothing has changed at this point.

This is my experience as well; The flights post almost "real-time". MQX's should post ~24-48 hours later.

Normally, they do. But at the year-end transition time, things slow down. I'd give them a little time.

Exactly

A few days ago I was booked from United onto Delta after a delay. I was rebooked in Full Y and I found it interesting to note that it posted as:

- RDU-DTW: 1 MQS, 752 MQM (500 + 250 class of service bonus), 752 RDM (500 + 250 class of service bonus) and 0 MQD.
