2013 Upgrade Success Thread
 

I UGed all legs of an M fare HKG-NRT-ATL-LAS-MSP-NRT-HKG in Jan 2013 with SWUs. ^^

But purchase and UG completed in 2012, does that count?

Or are we talking only complementary medallion UGs here?

Only comps.


It is for everybody. If there is no chance for comp upgrade, as in not eligible, it doesn't count towards your stats. Go look at the 2012 thread to get an idea.

Lucky you that the regional jets are on the way out, so in the mean time, look for more CRJ700s and CRJ900s, and as we get further into 2013, the first of the WN B717s, all of which have F.

1/3 DCA-MSP upgraded 5 days out on T
1/3 MSP-PHX upgraded 5 days out on T
1/6 PHX-MSP got a call from a PHX agent at my hotel about 3 hours before flight time. He told me there was an equipment change PHX-MSP and they were short 2 first class seats -- would I be willing to fly PHX-ATL-DCA instead on about the same schedule. I explained that I hadn't gotten the upgrade yet; he took a few seconds and said okay -- he would still switch me and upgrade PHX-ATL-DCA. I took him up on the offer and ended up getting home about 30 minutes early.

1/6 MSP-DCA upgraded 5 days out on T -- surprised -- this is the Sunday evening flight which used to be a very difficult upgrade and a gold mine for VDB, but maybe since Congress is adjourned?

1/4 SFO-SEA upgraded 2 days out as a GM on an H fare (AS operated).

Starting off the year right at 1/1.

All of my other booked travel is not-eligible (intl and intra-Europe) :-/

had pretty good luck in 2012 as a FO, and looking okay already for 2013!

As a DM

So far so good.........

I was upgraded on all but 3 domestic legs this year (out of 90), with the exception of award travel with the kiddos. I was 1 for 16 of international op-ups. So, the domestic percentage was close to 97% for me. Not bad, but I tend to have last minute tickets with higher fares.

EDITED - Misread the Thread Title (like a boss!). For 2013, I just booked 6 flights for the next few weeks. We'll see what I get.
