Upgrading on Alitalia
Yes I searched for this first, but no I didn't find my answer completely.
Are my SWUs worthless on Alitalia?
I want to upgrade from Premium Economy JFK-FCO to Biz. What is the best way to do this and what routes have the best J product?
I have a hoard of Amex MR points sitting around so those are a possibility too I guess...
Thanks everyone

Did you look here with regards to SWUs http://www.delta.com/skymiles/about_...erts/index.jsp
And this thread looks pretty informative http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...er-thread.html

We are redesigning the Award Travel booking process and calendar on delta.com to improve the Award redemption experience. We plan to continue improving the display of Award seats and other issues to provide better online Award Travel booking. We began making these improvements in May 2010 and have completed many of them. We will continue to improve the online experience on delta.com to offer more functionality to customers through the first quarter of 2011. For example, we will continue to redesign the Award Travel booking process and further improve the pricing and availability display of the calendar. And, we will add even more search options and display flight amenities.

There was talk of SWUs being usable 'soon' on AZ flights... however apparently they realized that the two worst disasters of an IT system (DL and AZ) would've created the apocalypse if they tried having them communicate or link in some way.

Actual planes full of pax would get sucked into the matrix never to be seen again except on some punch card set that got shuffled when it fell on the floor of the Deltamatic server room.

Nope, and based on the mess with SWUs on KL and especially AF I don't expect anything soon either. You can't even use a skyteam upgrade to get into J from full Y on AZ.
