Is it just me or did some award levels recently change?

Just was looking at some tickets to Mexico and the Caribbean for this winter and noticed many dates with Economy Awards coming out to 55k miles in Mid Level. I remember these always being 50k miles at mid level. Is it just me or did something recently change?? Europe looks goofy to me too. I thought it was 60k/90k/125k, no? Here is the link to the award chart:

I think you are definitely right! Several award levels seem to have gone up!

Europe/South America Med/High Y awards went up by 5k each. I believe South Africa went up as well. Anyone have an old chart?

Paging Michelle Skymiles so that she can come and let us know we've been surprised and delighted with the changes and now may start a conversation amongst ourselves.

Or will someone suggest this is the fault of the gamers?

How would increasing the miles needed for an award be an enhancement though . More of a dis-enhancement if you ask me...

You're (relatively) new around here. The rest of us understand what I mean.

Well, yeah. Apparently people are complaining and getting a ton of compensation, which made low-tier awards virtually impossible to find. Raising the prices should allow more tickets at every tier... they just cost more now!

Thumbs down

I noticed the same. Seems to be from September 1st

I found an economy award that I booked in August for 125k miles EU > US (I know I booked high level, but I needed that day and flight and prices were at $1,700 cash) and now the same trip shows up at 130k ... (also only high on my dates, but that's another story).

1) Very sad that it happens.
2) Even worse that it happens mid-year and not when new program year starts.
3) Worst that Delta does not communicate such changes.

Interesting, I saw the same 55K coming up on my searches for DTW-SJO return earlier last night. The award calendar is awash in Medium for economy, but interestingly is showing tons of green for First that wasn't there previously.

I may change vxmikegf's ticket to First for an extra 25K miles and then take my (likely) chance on the free upgrade.
