I've been at the ATL former BE lounge in E a few times this year during the 4-7 hour, and they replenish the food stock every 15 minutes. Not as big a spread as AF does in CDG, but still quite nice after a long TATL flight.

Last few times I've been in the former BE lounge SC in ATL between 4-7, they had vegatable soup as well. Nothing special, just a bouillon base with a few veggies, but it was nice. FTR, I really like the little parfait desserts. They are just enough and really very good.

JFK seems slowest to replenish. CVG has one of the best Chicken Salads I'ver had anywhere.

Add: Various wraps to the offerings. Real cheese & cracker tray.

I was there from about 4:45 pm to 6:30 pm on Tuesday. The food spread was extensive, of excellent quality, and kept fully replenished the whole time.

Vegetable beef soup
Couscous salad with shrimp and salmon
Fresh sliced vegetables (peppers, carrots, etc) with french onion dip (strange combo)
Cheese chunks and crackers
Chicken salad with grapes (and pita bread)
Wraps with ham and cheese (I think)
Fresh fruit (melons, pineapple, strawberries)
Brownies and cups of something that might have been mousse

I think there were one or two other things I'm not remembering. Afterwards I walked from E to B through the tunnel to work it all off. My only complaint was the lack of decaffeinated tea. Never been to a club that didn't have it.

And can someone clarify why CVG gets one of these 'enhanced' clubs, and DTW doesn't?

I'd been to the E club when food was served. Although it was nice to see food, the state of the food was absolutely disgusting. It looked like a herd of lions ran over the bar with food scattered all over the counter.

What does Michelle Bernstein have to do with the food in the Skyclub? Doesn't she only create meals for first/Business Elite?

I suspect that the Europeans, at least, think the same thing they think about their own airlines - they get me were I'm going. Even in Asia, folks seem happy enough to take the likes of jetstar without complaints.

About to board a DL flight right now. Jammed to the gills it seems. Pretty much all swedes and Danes. They don't seem overly concerned about DL's service standards. Then again, when the comparison is SK...

I think that Americans tend to overestimate the service standards on many of the foreign carriers. Though I guess European Lounges are better, but then again European J is so bad they have to give you something.

I was in the same lounge as OP on Thursday, about 5pm. The buffet looked pretty good but because of a very late connecting flight, I only had 5 minutes. I tried the chicken salad and was blown away. Very delicious. Much better than the stuff I get at our expensive local deli. I must admit this is a rare exception, but actually the rest of the stuff looked pretty decent as well.

I guess it's gotten to the point where when something good happens while flying, it's a worthy event!

Probably because NW WC members have consistently said that NW WC > DL CRCs. There has been so much resistance to change at the lounges almost as much as resistance to the merger itself. Maybe this is one area where DL has decided to take a measured approach to change.

i'm actually happy about the food cutbacks. one good way to keep Americans from getting more obese. the fact that northwest wanted to fatten their pax up does explain the ratty interiors. FAt people put more stress on the seats.

Actually, I've been thinking about this while sitting in my cubicle. I finally realized that getting rid of the real cheese was a shrewd business decision designed to... that's right... keep the RCC mice from moving over.

For those that were wondering - our snacks in our domestic lounges are standardized and offer the same items across club locations. In select domestic gateway cities our snacks are supplemented with pre-flight appetizers. For international locations (for example Frankfurt, Tokyo-Narita and others) we make efforts to align snacks with our domestic service but with some regional selections.

We constantly review snack items for popularity. SMI will be meeting with the SC manager in the next few weeks and will be able to provide a better update in the near future. Stay tuned...
