IMHO the moderators should delete this thread.

Because you don't agree?

No, I actually agree and at any time other than this would have asked to be in on this (e.g. if it was last week now).

Because of the extremely poor timing of the post, as I stated...you must have missed that.

Mods don't delete posts or threads because they don't like their timing... you know that.

Interesting idea. Let me know the code when available.

robtking Aug 12, 2011 9:31 am

I'm interested as well. ~ $2K spending annual on personal travel.

turnpike17 Aug 12, 2011 9:34 am

I will express interest..... $3-$4k personal spend a year.

As I've said before, this thread organizer has picked the worst possible time for this. Doing this now (and you can bet that DL is following this thread) will encourage DL to abuse its FFs more and more, seeing that no matter how much abuse it throws down, it has (gullible and apparantly abuse-loving) customers throwing more and more money at it.

IMHO the moderators should delete this thread.

Alternately, it could be interpreted that Delta's most active frequent fliers immediately decided that if the SkyMiles program was going to have continually reduced value, then they require some kind of bulk discount in order to remain loyal.

Several people here have already stated that their spend would be higher with Delta (or remain exclusively with Delta rather than being spread around) if this discount came to fruition. Surely Delta can see that their program would be driving some of these people away if not for the potential to also pay lower fares.

I'm in. Here's a short bio:

*Cash spending I'm well over $10k this year but I'm going to end up short $100k so I don't have the ability to negotiate for myself.

Count me in too. Here is my question.

If we all became a part of a company and enroll in Sky Bonus, with all the spend everyone has, we should be able to get some nice discounts? or am I making this too simple? (please forgive me if I am)

DL has no interest in giving discounts to people already flying DL.

You should be posting this in the UA/AA/US/WN/B6 forums. Get a bunch of THOSE travelers together and you have something, maybe.

You're still inferior to a company, though, as a company can enforce loyalty with policy. You have no mechanism to force program participants to keep travel with DL.

I disagree.

Any airline would be interested in establishing a minimum level of committed annual spend with existing customers, particularly if the customers' travel will be managed by a corporate TA, reducing costs to the airline.

Count me in

Bennos I look forward to the PM this week.

$10-15k annual
current Diamond
Corp travel is on AAnother carrier :( due to much higher discount level and threshold bonuses paid quarterly with holdbacks.

GoHogsAR Aug 14, 2011 3:59 pm

I'm certainly interested. Currently a PM and will be requalifying before year-end.

That would be correct.

Perhaps this could be negotiated with SkyBonus?

http://skybonus.delta.com

For small to mid sized companies.

What information do I need to enroll my company in SkyBonus?

Your company's legal name and address
Your company’s Federal Tax ID or VAT number
Name, phone number and email address for a primary administrator who will be responsible for maintaining the program on behalf of your company
The ARC/IATA number, email address and contact information of your preferred travel agency

Yes, one can create a SkyBonus entity in which everyone posting in this thread can participate, but then who would get the award travel or use the points?

This discussion is about everyone getting together and pooling their annual airfare spend so that the combined annual airfare spend is enough to qualify for an overall corporate discount on Delta Air Lines flights for everyone involved, every time each person books a revenue flight on Delta Air Lines.

The SkyBonus small business program is a completely different concept which has nothing to do with this idea and will not aid in procuring a corporate discount from Delta Air Lines.

DLNYC Aug 14, 2011 4:19 pm

I also do not foresee this happening, but on the off-chance it does, of course I'd want to be in. 9-10k spend so far YTD.
