I'm in (for a good several thousand this year and next).

Can you clarify what you mean about "pay out of your own pocket"? In general, my airfare is not paid by outside "companies". I do not go through a travel agent but either use delta.com or call the DM (international M/SWUs) and all are paid on a corporate PL AMEX.

BTW, discounts for me would mean more international trips flying Delta.

Edited to say I spend somewhere between $11-15K on flying each year.

I'm in. Here's a short bio:

* I am one of the principal's of the company and make the decision what airline we fly. There are 2 of us who fly regularly. One diamond and one platinum. Sometime next year we will most likely hire another sales rep who would end the year as a gold or platinum, so all totaled guaranteed 200,000 MQM for company travel next year and most likely 250,000 MQM for the company next year.

*Cash spending I'm well over $10k this year but I'm going to end up short $100k so I don't have the ability to negotiate for myself.

*My firm uses Skybonus already so we get something back from Delta.

*I decide where we want to go based on our business needs as our travel is done for sales and marketing purposes keeping in touch with current clients and trying to land new ones.

*I book all the travel for us but use multiple outlets to book as I sometimes find better rates on Expedia, Priceline or Travelocity than on delta.com.

*We do a lot of last minute trips so we're stuck in higher fare buckets pretty often but also a fair share of long range trips when we have conferences that we're going to attend as we know about them long in advance.

Interested.

Self-employed project management consultant, 50% travel, 75K miles per year, probably spending north of $17-18,000 annually. Northwest routes and SM keep me on Delta as much as possible. DL PM for now.

Booking through OTAs is a deal breaker. Any type of corporate agreement would require a corporate travel manager/agent to handle booking and changes.

If there's a discount I have no problem pushing all my travel through 1 place .... just wanted to give a head up about how I handle it now.

I would definitely be willing participate.

Perpetual FO flying a few domestic transcons and 1 or 2 trips to Central and South America per year. $2K-$3K annually.

NHFL9 Aug 10, 2011 9:53 am

I'd be interested. Annual spend that is not booked through my employer varies but is usually around $5k.

xolinlevh Aug 10, 2011 9:57 am

Count me in, i know i would spring for a few M fares if i had this

elkapong Aug 10, 2011 10:10 am

I'd be interested. Annual personal spend on Delta is $4-5k.

DiverDave Aug 10, 2011 10:26 am

I'm in, but personal spend is usually only $2-3K.

Also in - self-employed marketing consultant here with annual spend $5-7k mostly domestic routes. Often spring for P fares when available for a modest premium.

MarqFlyer Aug 10, 2011 10:44 am

I'd be in as well if the discount made it worthwhile.

In terms of numbers of people and personal spend, we'd probably want to include not only ourselves, but those other people for whom we regularly purchase tickets. In my case, that would include our family of four (me, wife and two daughters), and our total personal spend is generally in the neighborhood of $15-20K/year. This will probably increase in about a year when daughter #1 goes off to a (likely) distant college.

sxf24 Aug 10, 2011 11:15 am

If there's a goal of pursuing a blanket discount in the range represented in another thread, I think the minimum annual individual spend needs to be bigger than what's being discussed and not consider advance purchase LUT fares.

never going to happen but totally count me in if it does.
