Bought a last minute M fare MSY-ATL-RDU on Sunday for flights tomorrow. On ATL-RDU I'm in 22C, no exit row, no C+ etc. I got offered an $89 upgrade at check in. I briefly considered it before declining. I think I can handle the hour in the back.

A few days before the trip the BHM-LGA leg dropped to $95 so I grabbed it for the 8,900 miles. Normally wouldn't for such a short flight but doing a same-day return I wanted to maximize my comfort. Was able to get 5 woodford reserves in (including PDB) so it was worth the miles.

$184 FCM LAX-CVG red eye, first leg of LAX-CVG-DCA. About 2 weeks out. I grabbed it, well below my dollar/minute threshold on a 247 minute flight.
Return legs of my positioning flight for the KL LAX-BKK deal, so FC for this red eye worth it for me.

$245 offer for YYZ-SLC. Already got SLC-YYZ for $119, so this is double that offer. I think this is still a little rich (but the best offer recently.)
FYI, no status, and this is on a purchase Comfort+ flight.
Worth it?

I'm flying ATL to TPA on Friday. The offer is $150 or 8,000 miles. I am wondering if it would be worth it for something like this. I assume there isn't a meal service and I don't drink. Its a 739 for what its worth. There is only 1 C+ seat open and its a middle so I wouldn't even consider that "upgrade".

I think Delta has slightly changed the federal excise tax here, as mileage amounts are not correlating with the upgrade price on SFO-LAX.
It’s at $84.00 or 7900 miles right now — it used to be, at some point, $84.93, which is rounded up by a cent to meet the 7.5% tax on 7900 miles = $79 USD. Now, though, it’s charging a bit lower than the expected 7.5%.
I wonder if this means this will start to differ more in the future.
