So here's one: My neighbor gifted me Gold status in November and it's only good through March 2013. I was already FO and was expecting about 3500 miles to rollover to this year. So far, DL.COM is showing no rollover. Now it could just be a system delay, or do you think because he gifted me Gold and I only had about 28500 MQMs last year, that I lose the ability to rollover those 3500 MQMs?

At least, that's the way I understand the program to work.

If he gifted you Gold in November 2012, it's good through February 2014. It doesn't affect your rollover from 2012 to 2013 (at least, not as I understand it). However, if you get 49,000 MQMs in 2013, you rollover 0 to 2014 (since you're Gold in 2013, you roll only the MQMs over 50,000).
At least, that's the way I understand the program to work.

I see my roll over miles were credited sometime between last night and this morning (EST time zone), with a credit date of Jan 1 2013.

It seems like DL has rolled through DM, PM, and some GM. Is it possible that someone is manually doing this?? Yikes.
And likely with an abacus....

I wish I was GM through Feb. 2014, but he hadn't used his choice benefit earned in 2011 and it was going to expire (why he didn't take the $200 Tiffany card is beyond me), so he let me have it, knowing that it would only make me GM through March 2013. But I was happy to have it since I have a few trips lined up in the first quarter.
So only miles over 50,000 will roll over for you.
(What a way to be rude to someone: he earns 49,000 MQMs, stops just short of Gold to have rollover, and you award him Gold in late December.)

You're right; I hadn't realized he was that foolish (he could have given you status for all of 2012 for the same cost). (Maybe he did take the $200 card/credit; he can't get two of them.)
