DL adding BOS-CDG
In addition to the 2x daily AF operates on the route, DL is adding a BOS-CDG frequency starting 3/26/11 on the 752. Schedule:
DL048 BOS1850 – 0755+1CDG 752 D
DL049 CDG1110 – 1310BOS 752 D
Not sure if there's enough market for 3x daily on this route.

BOS-CDG will be 4X seasonal (2 AF, 1 DL, 1 AA).
"Enough market"
What about DL adding 2X to the BOS-LHR from the 7X (3 BA - 1X VX (all with much larger planes) and 3X AA).
Should be a bunch of good TATL fares and mileage bonus opportunities this spring/summer from BOS.

AF is not bad per se, but (i) it's a constant challenge to get good seats on their flights, (ii) they seem to be quite stubborn lately when it comes to $$$.

It has to be one of the last international flights CVG has. What a shame to see the hub dying this way. Now, don't get me wrong...I think it is the right biz decision, but too bad it can't stay around. The crews ex-CVG are great.
I wonder how DL will use BOS as a focus city once 787 comes on line.

I wonder too, and I'm intrigued. At first I was surprised by int'l flights out of Logan Term A (i.e. AMS, LHR, CUN and now CDG) but it looks like BOS could develop as a good reliever for JFK on TATL itins. Makes perfect sense to me, and there seems to be plenty of capacity at Logan A for this to develop. The only glitch in this scenario is that arrivals have to go to Customs at Term E, which isn't too bad but would be better if there could be int'l entry at A.

No, CVG-CDG is staying.
PIT-CDG is going daily for summer 2011, up from 5x weekly this past summer.

Air France is cutting capacity on this route by quite a bit. The second frequency will operate for a reduced time period compared to last year, and the route will go to a 330 in the early fall. So it will be an AF 330/DL 757 in September. Last year it was an AF 744/AF 343.
The only time this will lead to more capacity is during peak summer.
