Is the EUA machine learning seat preferences?

Not just window or aisle, but real preferences? I try to book 1C when I can -- no one reclines into me and I just like that location. Today, my upgrade for PIT-JFK next Tuesday cleared and there are two seats assigned -- 1A and for me 1C. It shouldn't be hard for the system to learn these kinds of things -- or is it just happenstance?

That has been my experience. I think it has just about learned that I want a window anywhere but the bulkhead or last row.

In the past, I think it just assumed everyone wanted aisle.

Unfortunately, it hasn't yet learned that I prefer 1A on RJs and tend to avoid 2B due to the FAM problem. Nor do my seat assignments seem to appreciate FEBO. Otherwise, I've been happy with the non-bulkhead aisles I've been getting.

I always clear into 2B, the bulkhead if there are no cutouts, or the last row if there is a wall behind that prevents recline.

I still clear into bulkhead regularly though I find it the worst possible option on the plane and, in some cases, worse than an exit row in coach.

Not just EUA . . .

I booked a 4 leg round trip the other day for myself and a friend, and I was in a hurry, so I didn't choose any Y seats at the time. I looked at it the next day, and I was surprised to find that I (we) were in the EXACT seats that I would have chosen!! Including the elusive 6D on a DC-9!!

DL can't fix the award engine and you're telling me they're working on seat preferences for EUA. I don't believe it.

It almost always sticks me in an aisle seat when I prefer windows. So I doubt there is any "learning" of seat preferences.

Yes!! The EUA term is just referring to the automated computer process that processes the upgrades.

What's worse is according to DL not only is it not broken, but it's doing what we as customers actually want.
