Have to think on this one...

Conflicting schedules confirmed...

Hello all,

I will have to meet you all at the delta DO. Sadly/luckly/pick your choice, I had to finalize my 'marching' orders, and head to Amsterdam from the 22/23 through the 25th. Research meetings for a weekend... yummy.

I am willing to hold a mini-do near the Van-Gough museum, any takers?

DLroads (back home, and heading to the roads).

Sadly, since the Thrashers didn't make the playoffs, I won't be in ATL for the mini-DO. Hope everyone has a great time.

Right now we have 230 people confirmed and the room holds 30....

LOL...thanks for the catch.$600 DL Dollars?

My apologies - as much as I would like to come to this, the wife informed me that we have plans that Sat with family, so I cannot extend my work trip the extra day (unless the customer forces issues that are not apparent right now).

I will have to miss it, as I am currently going through ATL on Friday instead.

i did a quick search on the forum and found this posted by ConciergeMike:

"Do" is a (goofy) term for a gathering of FlyerTalkers. The first one, according to legend, was organized by Catman. Catman-do...I get it...haha.... I much prefer "Meet" or "Thing", but that's just me. Do's come in many flavors: Micro, Mini and Mega are the most often used. Mega-Do is reserved for the largest events, some of which have exceeded 500 in attendance. Micro-Dos could be as small as a foursome for golf.

A swoon akin to the first time Cleopatra met Mark Antony. :D

Those who have been seeing Kovalchuk every night in NJ might think that Atlanta should have improved greatly by getting rid of him.

Curious where people are going to be staying, assuming people are overnighting. Westin Atlanta Airport is $100 all in with AAA discount for saturday night. (Sadly, it's not actually at the airport, but instead a "short complimentary shuttle ride away.")

Just remember Prime is in Buckhead. I'm not sure how prices are around mid-town though.

Also, I would like to announce Kevin Pinto will be joining us for dinner!

There is a Marta station at Lenox Mall and it's on the same line that runs to the airport - about a 40 minute ride on the subway. Westin ATL is one of the nicest airport properties I've stayed at around the country over the years though.

I have no idea where Buckhead is. I had to look at google maps. Prior to the merger, i could count on one hand the number of times I've flown through ATL :). It does indeed look like a ways away. That said, I have an 8:42a (DL1065) back to SFO, so I would appreciate my sleep and will probably get more of it if I'm near the airport. Looking at Google Maps though, it appears that the W might be right near the dinner location... tempting, especially since W usually has an awesome bar :).

If only I could SDC to a later flight... ;-)
