Angry Delta FF Program

Since the merger of Delta and NWA the FF program has been changed to the chagrin of all.Delta has increased the mileage requirements making getting award tickets impossible.eg I spent 150K miles for a business class tkt last year for LAX-SYD but this year the mileage requirement is 240K on "low dates:" and 305K miles (yes 305K miles) for "med dates".Incidentally in most months Delta offers only 1 "low" date and only 2 award tickets on those flights.
Also the SW upgrades are useless because the M fare which is the minimal requirement is 4-6 times the T fare.So Delta has pulled a fast one on us that have flwon and enjoyed NWA all these years.

I booked a 140k trip from JFK > NRT for the summer, so the low mileage fares are still around.

I think it's good when new members post about this...it illustrates yet another person who is outraged at what has happened. And gives one more reason why maybe we really aren't the vocal minority (among the millions of satisfied DL customers) that some have claimed.

Excuse me! It should have been 60k! So 140k is NOT low! LOL

Well it highlights how good DL's FF program is! You cannot rush such insightful reports!

A lurker of 6.5 years has awakened! That almost has to be a record?

+1 to that last sentence.

Not to mention the "stingiest" FF program thread over in MilesBuzz, in which (until linked here) most posters were an entirely different group (and several times larger) than the purported gang of 8-10.

For most non-FT folks, the awakening will come when they finally can't book the award trips they want, especially international ones. I'm guessing that's when most of my coworkers will realize they've been had.

One of my co-workers has already switched to UA but that was largely by accident.

Well, 8-10 does not quite make a crowd, does it? I think that thread is long enough to prove that DL has totally lost any sympathy from anybody with a brain!

Just for the record, I incorrectly labeled that thread "worst FF program". Actually it was "stingiest" FF program, just mentioning it here since you've already immortalized my misstatement.

This posting from that thread (milepost #121) summed it up pretty well

I could have corrected my reply as well, had you PM'ed me! But you know, between "stingiest" and "worst" there's no more than a micro inch of space!

Actually the vocal minority seems to be all the agressive and disrespective die hard Delta loyalists here, whose expectations have been driven rock bottom low by Delta (well done by Delta as a business though - I really mean it: it is always good to set one's customers' expectations low, as ultimately it results in "happier" customers), and who will jump like vultures on anyone implying that Delta is anything but perfect and tear them to shreds. It is clear that Delta has totally lost the respect of any customer with a brain (while those unlucky ones without it go on defending Delta like a bunch of zombies on a rampage, regurgitating the same things over and over again).

Really sad to see that it has come to this.

FT should be a place of constructive discussions and making it better for all. Instead, there is this vocal, direspective and destructive band of Delta loyalists here who will not let a word be said about how may be - just may be - Delta can improve it's FF program or IT or ___ (something else), and who will outright dismiss anyone's tale of any type of real problems or issues with Delta (because, of course, all that matters is them and their own experiences and the whole world rotates around them - so the Delta loyalists think ).

^ Remarks worth applause! (though I would correct the "it's FF" into "its FF" )
